Room wasn’t ready at 3:00. I was told I will get a call. Never got a call. Other customers were signing in and get their room keys. We waited 30 minutes kept asking the front desk and then another desk person h helped us and was ready. Not sure why they didn’t give us another room or gave us a drink voucher while waiting. Very expensive stay $800 for one night. Expected better customer service.

A historic charming hotel in the centre of Ottawa, in walking distance to Parliament Hill, the central business district, the Byward Market and Elgin Street entertainment districts and many major attractions. Hotel is small, we’ll kept with a warm feeling. Room was excellent, clean, attractive and comfortable. The walls are paper thin though and you can hear all activity in the halls, neighbouring rooms and the outside if facing the street. The TV options are basic also, no access to streaming services, software to connect your own wireless devices, or premium pay per view services so options are limited and a little behind the times in that regard. My only complaint was that checkin and checkout were unduly slow. The staff were wonderful but there was only one person behind the counter and it took way longer than it should as a result. (During checkin a second employee did appear from the back room and serve me right away, but I had been waiting a long time by that point. Apart from that wonderful stay.

Location was excellent. We were able to walk everywhere. Would be helpful if they had coffee in lobby. Leaving and restaurant was very busy and a line up. Had to wait for a while to grab a coffee to go. Most places offer a coffee station in lobby.

The hotel was friendly, helpful, clean and a perfect location to everything so you can walk. I would recommend parking offsite to save $$ as we didn't use our car during our two night/day stay.

We were a little surprised that such a prestigious well situated hotel did not live up to our expectations. We had no bottle water and very few beverages and were reluctantly given more upon asking The room was a little tired and the towels were well worn and the room was dark. Ahmed the valet wad fantastic and very helpful
