The minute we settled into our room, we found blood stain on the pillow and bed. This is the first time we stayed at this hotel and one of the primary reasons was for the cleanliness and high ratings. Therefore when we noticed the blood stain, it made us really question the quality of this hotel. Although they switched rooms for us, we still felt uncomfortable during our entire stay. We kept worrying about the cleanliness of everything in the room and couldn’t get a good night rest the entire 2 days we were there.

The mattress was terrible. It was noisy when you turn. the first night I couldn't sleep at all. Then i changed the room. The staff was very polite and they made the switch right away. But the mattress in the other room was the same. I was exhausted, because the previous night I had no sleep at all and one night before I had 4 hours sleep, I drove from Toronto to Ottawa to be in a conference at 8:30AM. After 2 nights stay at this hotel I had to drive back to Toronto. Before the trip back to Toronto I had a nap for 2 hours in my car, otherwise i could have had any accident because the lack of sleep. It is not fair to pay $300 /night and you can even sleep. It is disappointing and upsetting. Please replace those mattresses.

It’s a re-brand…not much is spanky shiney new about it. Parking garage a bit of a mess, room was nice but drab colors, the complimentary hot breakfast was very nice, front desk didn't wow me but was competent, and the hotel was clean!! 7.75/10

I very much like this property. I’ve stayed here on business trips in the past. My one concern - and something that would prevent me from returning on a solo trip - is that there are no safety measures at all in the shower area: no grips on the bathtub, no safety bar to hold onto. For anyone with even minor mobility difficulties this is a real problem: there could easily be a fall, which could be catastrophic for a person. I hope the property will address this and make the point about accessibility clear on its website. Otherwise I would discourage any solo traveller with mobility issues from staying there.
