This is a fully automated type of hotel, but it generally went very smoothly. A couple questions to the staff we pleasantly answered. The free luggage storage in the basement was great, and although I didn't see it in the description, the laundry machines were very useful. I enjoyed my stay, and would do so again.

A different hotel experience
First time staying with this brand, and I definitely will again. Nicely appointed, spacious room in a great location. It was nice having a full kitchen with everything needed for preparing food and dining in room. Loved having a balcony which most hotels don’t offer (although there were a couple giant spiderwebs out there and I HATE spiders!). I loved having a door I could open to the outdoors to get some fresh air. A minor communication problem since everything is automated - I wanted to check my luggage for a few hours before catching the train home, but once you check out in their app, your access code to get back into the building disappears (even though it is still active until later in the evening). Eventually I found a staff member who was able to help me and it was an easy fix. I later discovered that the access code is in the check in email that they send you before you arrive and I hadn’t deleted it yet. I didn’t even think to check there because everything is done through their app. Just a minor bump in the experience, but it was my first time staying with Sonder so I will remember that for next time :-)

I liked the spacious room and the kitchen. The room really had a home atmosphere The room was spacious, and I really liked the kitchen,. which created a home like atmosphere. Howeve, in the bathroom,the shower stall was only partially enclosed bya glass partition, providing very little privacy.

Super easy self check-in. Spacious studio accommodation in a central area close to Ottawa's cultural venues. I like the comfy, yet firm lounge chairs to watch TV and the studio kitchen includes all the utensils and kitchenware you need for your stay. Just be sure to bring your own cooking oil, salt and pepper if you plan to do any cooking. Setting my phone as a mobile key via the Sonder app is a nice touch too. Makes it very convenient to enter the building.
