Close to Oxford and Miami U. Pet friendly, and away from college shenanigans

Come stay at the historic Brown farm (circa 1818). The cottage is the farm’s original ice house, but is far from chilly. The cottage has been completely renovated, while saving a few historic details. We recently went solar and have an auto generator, so you can feel good about environmental impact, while never being disturbed by a power outage.

The cottage is best described as a studio apartment. It has a full kitchen, bedroom/living space and full bath (shower only). The bedroom/living space has a queen (medium firm) bed. The cottage is optimal for 2 guests; however, two inflatable twin mattresses are available for additional guests. It will be tight quarters with the inflatable beds, so be prepared for that.

Guests have access to a heated pool (May15- October 1) and hot tub (year round).

Come enjoy our 14 acre property including our native prairie restoration project. Our stocked pond and paddle boat are there for you to enjoy along with a pond-side fire pit.

We are pet friendly ($20.00 fee), but do not have fencing to contain your furry friends. There are two dog parks close by and our entire property is available for leash walking.

We are less than 2 miles from uptown Oxford and Miami U, and 3 miles from Hueston Woods State Park which offers mountain biking trails, road riding, Acton Lake, hiking trails, horseback riding (summer only) a dog park and great birding. The Hueston Woods Lodge has a nice restaurant that rarely has a long wait.

Overnight in Oxford
3rd time staying. Love the quiet location just a few miles from campus. Also really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and taking in the peacefulness of the serene atmosphere. Hostess is great to work with. My only suggestion is the mattress needs replaced. Would def stay again.

Perfect Spot for Two in Oxford
Our stay at this cottage was terrific. The ability to be in this terrific setting and still so close to town was ideal. The property was well taken care of, clean, and had everything you'd need whether you're in town for a game, going to the state park for a hike, or just looking for a getaway. The history of the property was great to learn about, and the cottage was quaint while still being modern and having everything you need. Will definitely be back!

Delightful stay in this great VRBO. Perfect location next to Hueston Woods, but close to Oxford. The pool and hot tub were very nice with floats, toys and a great table with umbrella. The Ice House had a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. The hosts were very accommodating and available. We will definitely return!!

The perfect little cottage!
This was a great place to stay in Oxford!! It was my husband and myself, our daughter stayed one night until we got her moved into her dorm. Checked in Wednesday evening , was supposed to check out Sunday but unfortunately we are on our way back home. :( We enjoyed our stay up until this afternoon (Friday). My wife and I were on our way out of the rental cottage, I had just shut the door when I see the owners dog come charging at my wife. He was viciously lunging at her, showing his teeth and barking. Thankfully the owner heard and stepped out of the barn to yell several times to get the dog to stop. We were warned upon arrival the dog is aggressive and protective of Kathleen. Usually he was behind the fence but today he was running freely, not on a leash. Please beware of him!!! I am still in tears and pretty shaken up.

I enjoyed waking up to the bird symphony, walking the short distance in to town for coffee, and exploring the local farmer’s markets for dinner. This cute little home felt safe and was very comfortable for the five nights we stayed.
