We stayed in the Junior Cottage for less than $200/night. It was super cute, cozy and I wish we could have stayed longer. The reviews on Expedia and Google made us question committing to this place, so we viewed the cottage before we booked it. It was just fine, as advertised. The bathroom is a little dated and not great lighting but it was clean and functioned well. The fireplace was cute but it was too warm for us to use. No AC because that’s not a thing in Cali!! Great walk to the beach, less than 5 min walk.

We have stayed at the Lodge and Suites several times and have never been disappointed. We enjoy walking to the beach and even ventured as far as cannery row. You can always take a short drive to downtown Pacific Grove where there are plenty of dining options and an excellent small coffee/bookstore.

The rooms were so poorly maintained, I was shocked! Holes in the walls, grease marks on walls. Scruffs and scratches on every wall. Leaking sinks, broken doors. At check out there was no one at the front desk which seemed intentional, in order to avoid complaints. Other guest was writing a letter to staff about the poor condition of the rooms since there was no one at the front desk for check out, just a basket and sign for the room keys. Expedia rating is inaccurate, didn’t find that out till after my stay, accurate reviews on yelp

I've always enjoyed staying at this property but will admit the wear & tear is really starting to show yet prices are up. We were thrilled to see warm breakfast is now being served and rooms still very cosy, great beds & fireplace. Icing on the cake would love a comfy reading chair be added to the room.

The rooms do not have air conditioning. The mattress was old and lumpy. If you have a choice to stay here don’t do it. The pictures on this site are not same as the place I stayed at they are very outdated. I paid 377 for a horrible night.

A very cool place by the cemetery and close to Pacific Grove golf course, walking, restaurants and shopping. Carmel is 10 minutes away by car.

Had a King Bed w/Fireplace. Stayed 5 nights. Fireplace would go out each night. Had to have the pilot lit next day. Balcony was encroached upon by a large tree so no very inviting. Bathroom was SO small you have to essentially work your way around the door to enter it. The bathroon sink stopped up on second night, they unclogged the next day. Decided to extend our stay to 5 days from 4. Had to go to the front desk to get new keys. Was not informed of this upon extending (did it on line) after I spoke with the front desk. Overall the facilities are old. Lastly, they indicate they have WiFi, yes they do but the speed is 2MB down and 1MB up. Really? Also, the TV is not very user friendly. The mgmt indicates that Pacific Grove does not allow any celltowers. Comcast was the provider and the TV guide only let you scroll thru 69 channels to the one you wanted, you cannot pick a channel via a number key. I would probably choose another hotel on our next stay.

cottage was spacious, jacuzzi tub a treat. furniture was a bit dated only bad thing was bed needs to be replaced in 323. it was not comfortable. breakfast was great with a lot of options and a large dining room . great onsite parking with space even covered. staff was pleasant and immediate response when a call made to maintenance for a minor issue. great weather but not able to open any windows as they were old and stuck. not allowing the wonderful fresh air in. also enjoyed the large sun patio area to relax in.
