The management is so friendly and accommodating. My husband is disabled and when we got there the manager let me pick between two rooms and gave a discount. We enjoyed our stay so much and will definitely be back.

What appeared on the first look to be a quaint Christmas village sparkling with lights, opened up to a surprisingly modern, comfortable and exceptionally clean room. I was grateful for the litlle comforts of a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. The gas fireplace heated the room fast and gave it a cozy appeal. I love the short walk to the beach. I would love to stay over here again.

Great location near the ocean
Great hotel and great location! It was about a block from the ocean, where you can get on walking trails right on the coast! Rishi, at the office, was kind and helpful with suggestions for food and activities. They offer a simple breakfast (donuts, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, juice and coffee). They also offer snacks (granola bars, yogurt, fruit) throughout the day. They have a coffee machine in the lobby that makes a great latte and hot chocolate. The shower was great, nice water pressure. Our room had a small massage chair in it, that was nice after a day of hiking. Like the location. It's in a quiet neighborhood, away from all the busyness and traffic of Monterey.

Parking a little tight but stay was good. Clean and real nice staff. Super helpful! They know the area really well including what time the sun sets and from what part of your room to get the best view.

Very small and the front desk person was very weird and just so defensive about my complaint about having no parking space. Did not enjoy and would not recommend anyone. I read the reviews and i book the place but i think most of the reviews weren't true. Sorry to leave bad review but want to be honest. Pacific grove is nice city and that location is the only positive about the sunset inn.

Perfect in Every Way
Excellent location for short stay within walking distance of Pacific Ocean beach, Carmel's 17-Mile Drive, Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course (a true ocean-side links) and John Denver Memorial. Desk clerk was very friendly and helpful in suggesting a superb restaurant for dinner (Beach House at Lovers Point).Our room was large, clean and equipped with California King-Plus bed and walk-in shower.

This is a charming motel, reminiscent of motels found all over the country in the 40s and 50s, but with modern fixtures and appliances. The gas fireplace was attractive and shockingly efficient, putting out enough heat to warm the entire room in 20 minutes. Our king size bet was very comfortable and my wife made good use of the in-room refrigerator and microwave. The manager at the front desk was one of the most hospitable people I've ever met and gave us several great suggestions on what to see and where to eat. An all-around great stay. And BTW, I saw complaints about the continental breakfast which can be attributed to someone not understanding what a continental breakfast is. We found the offerings adequate and the coffee machine turned out excellent coffee and coffee based drinks (cappuccino, vanilla latte, etc.)

It is a very cute property, conveniently located near Pacific Grove golf course. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast is quite good with a great coffee machine.

Sunset paradise
Property is beautiful and close proximity to nature and restaurants. Pictures don’t do it justice. Walking distance to the ocean. Rooms are updated clean and welcoming Staff is friendly and looking to help make your stay a pleasure. We will be back.
