When we arrived to this hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful outdoor spaces and the friendly staff. After a little snafu with our room (first they told us they could not accommodate us with 1 queen bed as requested b/c the room needed to be fumigated. This was fine and we were given a room with 2 full beds instead). When we got to our room, we found it was being used for storage, and full of blankets and covers.) we went back to reception, where we were moved to another room in a different cabana. Although we were no longer next door to our companion, this was alright because we were just across the way. The pool was refreshing after a long hot day of travel in the jungle. We had no hot water (In the evening this was refreshing. The following morning, however, it was dreadful).
Our AC did was difficult to control because the remote didn't seem to communicate well with the unit. But overall the room stayed pleasantly cool for the night.
We purchased a package with included breakfast, and learned that this meant we had included the "Desayuno Americano" (American breakfast) plate. (An item on the menu which included orange juice or fruit, eggs any style, toast or pan dulce, and coffee.) I cannot eat eggs, and do not drink coffee so it was disappointing that they would not make any substitutions, or offer me OJ with my fruit and toast, & made me purchase my own bottle of water even tho I was not consuming half of the items included in my purchased package.
