We spent 3 nights in April and though the room was OK, the area is terrible. As it was the weekend, 2 out of the 3 nights we were unable to sleep due to the loud music coming from a nearby bars till very early hours way past 2 in the morning. The music was so loud to be heard through closed windows and curtains.
To make it worse they were people stationing just below the building with their cars' doors open with loudspeakers so powerful to make our mattress vibrate. We felt that we were inside a club bearing in mind that both my partner and I wear earplugs!
By the way, we've made videos and recordings as a proof that I'm not exaggerating. At one point I also called the police, but nothing really happened.
We spoke with some of the neighbours and read articles about the area confirming that it is a hot spot for antisocial behaviour and dealings of any sorts with a constant bustle or scooters and cars stopping at any hour.
We did text the owner of the place at one point explaining the situation, but he didn't even acknowledge the text.
I understand that the owner has no control over the activities outside, but he should nevertheless be responsible of the comfort of his guests. And because he clearly knows what's happening in the area, he should not have the cheek to get away on renting an accommodation that is completely unsuitable for overnight stay....unless of course you don't mind going to bed at 3 am every night!.
