The Opal Grand is a Marriott, spruced up a bit. Bathroom is no different, and a little awkward since the sink is not inside the bathroom and anyone can see in from the hallway. Staff was excellent. Fun bar. Good food.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it was an exceptional experience. The overall atmosphere and ambience is stunning. The dining options, bar options, the two pools, the fitness center, and spa add so much to the overall experience. Listen the staff was super friendly, except for one guy at the front desk who was dismissive and rude. I wish I caught his name because he acted like an entitled little d*ck. And I never leave comments like this. That said, it’s a nice enough resort and overall we had a pleasant stay.

Consider another part of Florida
The lobby is beautiful and a good place to meet friends (we were there for a wedding). But the service at this hotel wasn’t great. Very difficult to obtain non-down pillows. Lots of confusion among staff when requests were made. The pool is pretty overcrowded and we are not in peak season yet. We heard the rooms at the Seagate were more updated/better.

Booked an oceanfront room and was given a room with a view of a brick wall taller than me. reached out to front desk, was apparently given the correct room. I’m not sure where the disconnect is between an oceanfront room vs a room with a view of a brick wall but I am NOT happy.

We arrived for three nights to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. We were given what had to be the worst room in the entire hotel with a small window and a view over a roof and into a wall. I was offered another room, but to be honest, the staff was so unhelpful that we left the hotel after 14 hours. I would not recommend the opal.

We booked our stay Tuesday thru Saturday, we had to leave Saturday morning due to our house being damaged by the hurricane. They refused to refund the one night stay. Also practiced price gouging by charging $100.00 per night for our 17 lb dog.
