Our experience at Avant Hotel was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The electronic key code malfunctioned, leaving us stranded outside. Customer service’s suggestion to manipulate the door only worsened the situation, revealing a low battery in the device—a concerning oversight for a keyless entry system.
Once we finally gained access to our room, more issues emerged. The bathroom door handle fell off, locking my husband inside until I could open it from the outside. We also found tiny red ants on the bathroom counter, likely due to the rain. A sliding door behind the sink revealed what looked like mold, which the hotel staff dismissed as "water damage."
Despite notifying the hotel within 30 minutes, their response was disheartening. A technician confirmed the "water damage" but no alternative accommodation or goodwill gesture was offered. Our refund request was denied, adding insult to injury.
Customer service was equally poor, with sporadic text messages and a dismissive attitude towards our grievances. We checked out 40 minutes after arrival, documenting our experience with photographs.
