Quite honestly the first vacation that I didn't want to come home from. Walk out the back door, down some steps and you are on a beach equivalent to the Bahamas oBahamas or Florida

Don’t hesitate just book it!
Our family has been coming up to the UP for the last three years now. We have stayed in different areas and have to say that Whitefish Point/Paradise has been our favorite. Staying at The Bear Den was an easy choice for our family this summer. The house was spectacular from its views to its accommodations. It was incredibly clean and looked exactly like the pictures on the listing. Jason was very communicative and helpful when we needed something. There were 10 of us staying there, and there was plenty of space inside and out. We all enjoyed the beautiful sandy beach and were amazed at how far out into the lake we could walk. We did not have to worry about our kids thanks too shallow water but still enjoyed boogie boarding on some windy days. think we used the fire pit every night and the grill a few times. We were lucky enough to get to see The Northern Lights and watch some of the biggest ships to sail the Great Lakes float by on their way to and from locks that were only an hour away. The kitchen was great as well as the supplies. We were all able to sit at the large dinner table every night with no problems. We have stayed at other VRBO homes where the photos did not match the inside. This absolutely is not the case with this home. I had never seen my kids so excited when they walked into the great room and saw the views of the lake. They also enjoyed the game room upstairs & in the basement. We would rent again and recommend to our other family and friends.

Beautiful view
Breath taking view of Lake Superior. Long sandy beach great for strolls along the water and beautiful rock collecting opportunities. The home was very clean and had everything a group would need for a comfortable stay. The fourth bedroom with bunk beds is truly meant for children, adults cannot sleep comfortably, but all other rooms and beds are extremely comfortable and spacious. I would highly recommend this home to others.

The Bear Den is an absolutely beautiful vacation destination! The home is exceptionally clean, well equipped, comfortable, spacious, and beautifully furnished and accessorized. We are a family of 9, three generations, and we all loved it. The views of the bay, the beautiful beach, rock hunting, watching the eagles, star gazing! Also some fun destinations, Pictured rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Oswalds bear ranch, Whitefish Point and the Soo Locks. Jason and Amanda are great hosts. We look forward to a return trip!

This was a great place to stay. The Bear Den was exactly as described. The house was quiet clean and was a great home base for our adventures in Michigans UP. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for a family dinner. I would highly recommend this property. The hosts were super helpful and attentive. We arrived to the property just before dark and were so amazed at the beauty and seclusion of this wonderful place! It was everything we had hoped it to be. Comfortable, immaculate, and beautiful! The bedrooms were so comfortable and inviting. We’ve stayed at many properties in our time and I’m sure we all agreed, this was the best! A beautiful walk to the private beach, the ambiance of the property reminded us of our home in Michigan. My Son is active duty Air Force and this was our first real vacation since he joined over 10 years ago. It was indescribable!

Spectacular Site on Superior!
Considering a stay at The Bear Den? Book now before you lose your opportunity! My daughter and I stayed there the last week of March. We had some windy, cold weather, but we bundled-up and explored all that Paradise and the surrounding area had to offer: Tahquamenon Falls, the shipwreck museum (only the grounds because the museum was not yet open for the season), and Munising, which was about a two hour drive. I was a UP rookie, so I was surprised by the amount of snow that was still on the ground-- and the snow that fell while we were there-- but it did not stop me from getting out and enjoying all the area had to offer. Full disclosure: my teen daughter was not as excited to do the same, but we did have the Lower Falls to ourselves! :) We enjoyed pizza at the gas station / convenience store on the way to Tahquamenon Falls, and a great meal at the GOAT. If you prefer cooking at the house, the kitchen is fully stocked, and the view while cooking can't be beat. I'm already plotting my next trip to The Bear Den, only this time I plan to go in the summer when I can enjoy the beach!

Amazing!
We truly enjoyed our time at the Bear Den! Jason was extremely helpful start to finish with any question we had. The property was clean and ready for our family of six. It is evident they have paid attention to detail in preparing a home ready for anyone to drop in and fully enjoy themselves. There was a snow storm and an ice storm during our stay, but that didn’t stop us from thoroughly enjoying every minute of it. Locals were great at the nearby restaurant, Wheelhouse. Some establishments were closed in the off-season, but the area still brought what we were looking for. It’s a beautiful home and hope to visit again, perhaps during the warmer months next time? Thank you, Jason, for sharing your beautiful home with us.
