Commune with Nature at Hilltop View in Nikau Valley!

Hilltop View is a recently constructed self contained single level cottage that is separate from the main house on a 10 acre rural lifestyle block in Nikau Valley. The cottage is a modern comfortable space to relax and commune with nature. It is set amongst eucalyptus, poplars and many other native trees and bushes. There is also a stream that runs alongside the cottage.

The cottage comes with a queen size bed, from where you have a view of the numerous mountains that surround the property. There is also a sofa that doubles as a bed. With the curtains open on clear mornings you can see a wonderful sunrise or on a clear night you can see the stars and moon radiating brightly against the night sky.

There are decks to the front and rear of the cottage and on summer days, you can sit on the bench provided and sit in solitude whilst listening to the birdsong of the native birds on the property. Due to the rural nature of the property, there are friendly sheep and goats in the paddock next to the property that like to say hello.

A large en-suite bathroom comes with under floor heating and a heated towel rail to keep your toes nice and toasty. There is also a heatpump onsite that provides a cooling and heating option..

A small kitchenette provides the basics and comes fitted with a microwave, electric tabletop single induction cooker, kettle, toaster, pots, pans and basic utensils, so small meals can be prepared. There is also a small fridge located in the kitchenette area.

The property is keyless and has unlimited WIFI. The door code and WIFI password will be provided before check-in. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided. Extra towels , bedding, an iron and ironing board are also available. The drive is gravel but easily accessible in a car. It is a traditional NZ farm driveway.

Free parking is provided onsite and there is space for around 3 cars. Please note that the main entry/driveway is also used by the main property so needs to be kept clear for access 24 hours a day.

The cottage is a short 10 minute drive to the Coastlands Mall, Paraparaumu train station, several supermarkets and other amenities. Paraparaumu Beach is located around 8 to 10 minutes drive away and is a hub of local shops, restaurants and cafes. Every Saturday morning there is a market with loads of local fare on sale. Raumati, Raumati Beach and Waikanae are also very close and offer many more local amenities and places to go. The cottage is also 10 minutes drive from the Southwards Car Museum.

Central Wellington is now around 35 - 45 mins away on Transmission Gully or if you choose you can park for free at the train station and travel to Wellington by train.

Great spot
Comfy cabin in a nice area. Very clean and well appointed. My favorite part was the friendly sheep on the other side of the driveway.

Lovely View!
Simple accomodation with a lot of lovely extras like the under heating floor in the bathroom. It was really great to sit out in the evening looking over the hills with the friendly neighbouring goats and sheep!

I travelled down for work. Stayed 10 nights. Was great to go home every night to a quiet, relaxing place. Surrounded by nature. Host family was awesome. Would recommend for small family or couple.
