About this property

Artistic Lodging Queen suite

Art on High provides cozy, unique lodging on the second floor of our art center. We paid attention to details: comfortable beds, high-quality linens, original art, smart televisions, hand-painted furniture, private baths, and access to a kitchen and sitting room downstairs. Breakfast is provided in a self-serve, continental format. Our offerings include bagels, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and tea. The menu changes daily. Evening snacks are available. Art on High is situated in downtown Paris, KY, within walking distance of the Farmer's Market, Library, retail shops and restaurants, a micro-brewery, and a bourbon distillery. Lexington, KY, and the Kentucky Horse Park are a short drive away. *7% KY sales tax & 3% local transient room tax applied at checkout.

*Children are welcome! But, the stairs are steep, so you'll need to carefully watch your children. :)

High Class in a Small Town
Paris, Kentucky is the cutest town you can imagine. A pitcure-esque Main Street, with lots of local vendors and great food and drinks. Some construction is happening on the street in front of the house, but the whole town is really helpful and great about parking. The room itself was PERFECT and the house is just gorgeous. Kathy was super helpful, there was a minor snafoo with checking in (that was not anyone's fault, just a "these things happen") and Kathy always responded to my texts and phone calls within minutes. I highly recommend staying here and visiting Paris!

Was unpleasantly surprised
Room was just as pictured and that was best part of stay in Paris. Had never been to Paris and was investigating retiring in the area. Have been to many VRBO sites over the years. However, have never been to one like this. The only person we crossed paths with is a resident artist that uses the space. Got up in night and went to kitchen with cell phone flashlight because lights at night were off and a mystery as to how to turn on. The breakfast which is quoted in the ad here " Breakfast is provided in a self-serve, continental format. Our offerings include bagels, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and tea. The menu changes daily. Evening snacks are available.". What I found were a stack of bowls which I had to wash, a couple pouches of Quaker Oats instant oatmeal and a walmart granola bar. Thank God the coffee machine worked. And I guess part of it was my own fault because when the ad said it was self serve format, I pictured a buffet style breakfast, not a no one else is in the house and you are on your own to figure it out. The pros to the room and place, the cost was reasonable and my wife chose and liked the room. The cons to the room and place, Paris was not very enticing as a location to move to. Breakfast mentioned above. Although the cost of the room was reasonable and breakfast would have been understandable given that cost, once the VRBO fees, cleaning fees and taxes were added, the room came to about $20 from doubling the cost. And that made it not worth it.

Delightful place!!
Kathy was excellent in communicating and answering my questions. The room was clean, updated, and cozy. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 for location was the minor road noise. It's on a main throughway in Paris, so that is expected. Kathy provided a white noise machine, so that helped! There is construction going on in Paris (has been this way for years), so I anticipated that and accept that it's the way to better roads in the future. So if you are ok with a delightful place in downtown Paris, this is for you! If you are looking for a quiet farm setting, this is not. But staying in Paris is my preference when I visit Kentucky, and I hope to always be able to reserve a room at Art on High when I visit horse country!

Felt like Home
It was perfect. We’ve stayed in many rental homes. This room and the spaces available were lovely. The bed (which to all of us travelers is the most important thing after cleanliness) was so comfy. Loved all the art on display and only wish some was available for sale. Wish we’d had more time to explore your lovely town too. Thank you.

I never met Kathy, but the room was very pleasant, cofortable and clean. The only slight issue is to make the TV a bit easier to use for an old technologically challenged person!

Beautiful room in a grand building
Very nice friendly people. Work on the house and road ongoing. However my room was just lovely, spotless small private bath. Steps are old house steep, had help with my luggage going up. Breakfast was served yourself from fridge. Main Street was good for a walk, early dinner at Paradise.. I left early am.. Great trip stop.

Kathy was so kind and communicative. The property wasn't hard to find or access and the town of Paris was super cute, although in Sundays most stuff in town is closed so we wished we were able to stay longer. Overall a very pleasant time!

Restful rest stop
Looking to break up our road trip, a search of the Lexington area lead us to this lovely sanctuary in nearby Paris. Exactly as presented, this space was well-appointed, calming and quiet - exactly what two road-weary travelers needed. We appreciated the proximity to downtown as well as access to the kitchen area. Highly recommend and will definitely return when next in the area.

Cozy & comfortable!
The room was very comfortable, clean and the kitchen was well outfitted with coffee, teas and bagels to toast, yogurts & juices. Paris is a sweet town, lots of shops with awesome people! My hostess, Kathy was super responsive to my questions! There was a lot of State road construction outside the building, which is also under renovations. Otherwise it was a lovely stay!
