The hotel was lovely with friendly staff. The room was spacious and comfy. We loved the little details in the decor. It was very well located for Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. I would definitely stay here again.

Not amazing, but perfectly adequate
This hotel is super convenient for both Gare du Nore and Gare de L'Est - which was great for our trip. In terms of the hotel itself, it's neither luxurious nor sub-standard. However, when they tried to check my family and I into the room they'd first allocated, we found that the bathroom light didn't work (and couldn't be immediately fixed), so we were moved to a room which wasn't quite as nice (but still perfectly adequate for what we needed). The hotel staff are friendly and the continental breakfast has sufficient choice for most travellers' needs. All in all, a good hotel at good value in a convenient part of the city.

We are told to turn left. Don’t turn right. It’s dangerous. We were so far out from everything, that by the time we paid for a taxi, we could have upgraded locations. A/C didn’t work well. One room had to keep window open. Street below was very loud into the night. Had to ring a bell to get in the hotel, it’s that sketchy outside. Had to pay for airport shuttle in cash, then hotel didn’t pay driver. Driver had us wait in the parking lot and call hotel before we could take our flight. Tiny tiny rooms. Hard to walk around. No where to really put two suitcases. I could go on and on.

Great place, we enjoyed our stay. Only slight niggle was that our room hadn't been cleaned when we checked in - as we discovered when we opened the door - and had to wait 15mins for a replacement room which was slightly smaller

the staff are very professional, multilingual & helpful. the building itself is older altho well-maintained. the elevator is small & functional & the spiral staircase is a bit steep, so could be tricky. the breakfast buffet is very good & the neighborhood has many nearby restaurants, also a coin-op laundromat a block away. the taxi-drivers cautioned against being out late at night in that part of Paris. the hotel is a short walk from 2 train stations.

This hotel is very close to Métro and major train stations. It is easy to go anywhere. My issue with the hotel is to cut corners. For example, they don’t provide tissues. One of my folding bed is in bad shape. The breakfast is barely adequate. The shower drain is barely working, etc.

I booked my room at Expedia and I have emergency can not fly to Paris. I had to contact the hotel through Expedia in the first instance in the hope that I could cancel the room and get a refund. Unfortunately, the hotel said it was okay to cancel the room, but the policy states no refunds. I will never choose that hotel again when I visit Paris in the future.

I can’t say enough good things about Lucien & Marinette. The location is less than 5 minutes away from the metro. Easy access to everything! Our room is very cute and clean. We had everything we needed. Best of all was the manager Pierre who helped us out immensely when we had to cut our trip short due to an emergency. Fantastic customer service! I am so grateful to Pierre and we will definitely come back to Lucien & Marinette for future Paris trips!

Best 3* in Paris
Stayed for one night for the Rugby World Cup Final so wanted to be close to Gare du Nord. Whilst the surrounding area is not great, the hotel is absolutely perfect. Very friendly reception staff, and the rooms are newly refurbished and in very decent condition. Also comfortable bed/pillows. Would definitely recommend for a short trip.
