We have fabulous sunsets, dark night skies, wonderful hiking and biking at Itasca State Park which is showing a blaze of color now, biking on the Heartland Trail which is just a mile away and of course eating at our local restaurants and shopping our fabulous downtown shops. If you are a golfer make a tee time at Headwaters Country Club which is less than a mile away. Bring your tennis rackets as the courts are brand new as of last summer. Pickle ball courts are at Heartland Park only 2 miles away.

As in the past there will be thorough cleaning between guests. The rooms will be detail cleaned to be sure they are safe for your arrival. If you value your privacy and don't want to be surrounded by other vacation cabins, WildWood is the place for you! We have only the suite to rent so there are no other cabins or vacationers to spoil your get away time. There's so much to do in Northern MN ; hiking in the woods, spending time away together, watching the sunsets, star gazing in the dark, dark skies of the North woods, kayaking, biking, swimming, etc. Make your reservations for the 2024 Fall season now so you are not disappointed that the week or weekend is taken.This is a 2 room luxury suite on FishHook lake just outside of Park Rapids. (site of the Governor's Fishing Opener of 2013) There is a two night minimum stay for April, ,May and June . A three night minimum for July and August and then back to a two night minimum in September and until closing in late October.

Our property has over 2 acres of towering pines and birch trees located right on FishHook Lake. This is the Northwoods experience at it's best and only 2 miles from the town of Park Rapids!

The Eagles' Nest suite is on the second story of a private, carriage style garage. This suite was the premiere suite of our former WildWood Lodge B&B and won a decorating award from 'Better Homes & Gardens'. The suite features a king-size bed, double Jacuzzi tub/shower and warm terry robes. In the morning make your coffee and breakfast in the kitchenette and enjoy it at the breakfast bar or on the outdoor deck while watching for the first eagle soaring above.

Whether you come to just relax , do some sightseeing or you want to golf at the Headwaters Country Club ( 1/2 mile away), bike the Heartland Trail ( 1 mile away), visit Itasca State Park (22 miles away) , watch for the eagles ....peace and solitude abound. Guests are welcome to sit by the lake in comfortable adirondack chairs.

Business travelers are welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet after a hard day's work. Our suite is priced at $200-250 per night plus MN sales tax.
We are fully licensed by the State of Minnesota as a vacation rental.

This is a NON-SMOKING suite and no pets or children are allowed. Any use of illegal or recreational drugs is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property.

The Eagles' Nest is a place to totally discover the peace and quiet of lake living. The luxury suite has a separate room with a kitchenette that includes a refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, sink, dishes, toaster, pans and utensils. There is a Keurig coffee maker as well as an electric coffee pot.

Every time I’ve stayed at this beautiful property I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable, peaceful accommodations in the woods with gorgeous views of the lake. Don’t miss the amazing sunsets! It’s a great spot to swim, kayak, fish or just relax in the hammock. Liz and Phil are incredible people & hosts who truly take great care of their guests. They go above & beyond to ensure their guests are enjoying the property & the area’s activities and to resolve any issue that may arise. After spending a wonderful two weeks at this property, I left not only feeling pampered and rested, I left feeling blessed that I now call Liz & Phil my friends. I look forward to next year!

Quiet and beautiful getaway
This is an amazing find for my wife and me. Even though it is just outside of city limits, when you turn onto the last road to get there you are immediately amongst a forest and it feels like you have escaped into the middle of a forest. The private room above the garage was great and the view from the deck was quite divine. The owners are very mindful of guests and weren’t opening and closing the garage doors more than a couple of times. The lake itself was also beautiful and clear with a sandy bottom and very few weeds. We enjoyed floating in the lake and appreciated being able to utilize their kayaks for a nice row along the shore. We truly felt like guests at their lake place, which is what we were looking for during our vacation.

Amazing location
We did self check in since Liz was out when we arrive. She checked in with us later. Everything was set up perfect for us. Lights was left on and coffee station was stocked. This location has amazing views of the trees and the kayaks that you can use is a nice extra. Extra towels and everything is there. Lying in bed looking at the lake is a plus. Its close to town and beeing on the lake you get amazing sun sets. Looking forward to staying there again as soon as possible. Thanks Liz for a great weekend.

Great accommodations close to Lake Itasca State Park
Liz and Phil are terrific hosts. Eagles Loft is a really nice unit with a full kitchen. The unit is exactly as described and shown. We were able to prepare all of our meals during our one week stay. Liz and Phil were available for any questions we had. They were "on call", but allowed us complete privacy. We made daily trips to Lake Itasca State Park for kayaking, hiking, and bicycling. Very pleasant stay and we can recommend highly.

Ideal lakeside retreat!
Absolutely beautiful grounds, pristine accommodations, and super friendly hosts. This was absolutely the best place that we’ve stayed. We would definitely think about returning and highly recommend Wildwood and Liz. We had a great time fishing in the extremely clean lake and watching the beautiful sunsets from the lovely dock. Nature also abounds with the eagles , loons, and woodpeckers.

Beautiful Northwoods Getaway
We enjoyed a secluded, and very comfortable long weekend at the Eagle’s Nest this month. Our hosts were amazing, Liz met us with keys as we drove in. She is gracious and so thoughtful, there are so many extra little touches in the cabin to ensure guests comfort. Park Rapids is about 10 minutes away, it’s a welcoming environment for tourists, and we’d highly recommend Necce’s Italiano. There are many shops in the downtown worth checking out! Itasca State Park is about 25 min from Park Rapids, and it was really beautiful! We’d recommend this getaway for two, and are planning to visit again. Thanks Liz and Phil!
