The Cart House is situated in the village of Gulval with church and pub, and bus service to the stunning picturesque fishing village of St Ives just 6 miles over the hill. It is close to spectacular beaches, cliffs and the rugged Cornish coastline. It benefits from being in short and easy level walking distance to Penzance town centre, railway station, bus terminal and Isles of Scilly ferry. Mounts bay, with its safe beaches, St Michael's Mount and coastal cycle path are quickly and easily accessible. We can arrange surfing lessons, fishing trips, boat and wildlife trips and much more.


The property is ideal for families, being so close to all local amenities, but still retains a traditional Cornish village atmosphere. This traditional granite cart house was built around 1895 and has been tastefully converted to a high standard. The kitchen is equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, washing machine. Steps down to the open plan, light and airy living room with pine floor and dining area. There is a TV, DVD player. Selection of DVDs and books. French doors to sunny paved patio area with garden furniture and lighting suitable for BBQ's. Bedroom one: Double bed. Bedroom two: Single bed. Bedroom three. 2 Single beds which can be linked together. Bedrooms are carpeted.
Bathroom has toilet, basin, bath with shower over.

The property is centrally heated.

Bed linen, bath towels and tea towels are provided. Please supply your own beach towels. There is off road parking beside the cottage and unrestricted parking in the village.
The local area is famous for many outdoor pursuits including surfing and wind surfing on spectacular beaches. Wonderful sea views and rugged coastline. Fishing, hiking, riding and cycling.

Lovely place to stay. Quiet village, spacious property and close to supermarkets. We used as a base to visit places of interest, it was easy to get onto the A30. Lovely pub just up the road Would definitely stay in this property again.

Great location
The house is in a great location for exploring the local area. Nice open planning living and patio area. It is quite bizarre that there are 3 bedrooms and no wardrobes in any of them. The beds could also benefit from headboards and caster holders. The property was well equipped but would benefit from a deeper clean. The church bells were lovely but not every hour through the night. However overall we had a lovely week.

I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit Cornwall. It was a great location for shops and easy access to the beach. Which was a bout a 10 min walk. 15min walk into Penzance. The property was very clean and well looked after. Thank you Mandy we had a lovely week and it was really nice to meet you.

Really loved staying at the Cart house. Twenty minute walk to Penzance. Easy car ride to supermarkets etc. Village a bit noisier than expected with church bells chiming on the hour every hour. Bit of a cut through to St Ives road but not a problem. Cottage well equipped. Everything you would need in the kitchen. No wardrobes or hanging space . Nice patio area. Pub 50 yards away was closed but reopening very soon . We intend to return next year as it was perfect for our stay.

Fantastic property in a lovely quiet village just outside Penzance. Ideally located with Lands End, Lizard Point and St Ives just a short drive away. The property was clean comfortable and equipped with everything you would expect. Plus excellent internet connection. Would recommend to any family looking to stay in Cornwall.

Cannot fault the cart house. perfectly situated for walking along the coast paths, easy reach of St Michael's Mount, Penzance town centre, easy and cheap to hire taxis, village pub just up the road, supermarkets two minutes drive. Very comfortable for nights in or relaxing on terrace, including use of BBQ. Friendly Amanda on hand if you need anything. Double bed comfortable, bedding and towels very clean. Well fitted kitchen for all your cooking requirements. Only one little downside - village can be busy with traffic.

Met all expectations as advertised. WIFI was excellent and location just a 10 minute stroll down to beach and supermarkets. Local pub just around the corner. Owners were great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend staying there.
