‘The Fisherman’s Cottage’, (Le Chaumiere des Pecheurs) is the largest of three cottages available at Le Moulin de Boutineau, and has a beautiful ancient vine decorating the stone frontage and three bedrooms; two doubles and one twin plus a fully equipped bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area.
Ground Floor: With double doors out onto the pretty main courtyard, the living/dining room has a table, chairs and comfortable seating area with a sofa and two armchairs, plus a flat screen TV for watching dvd’s, a modern USB music tower system and free WIFI. The adjoining open plan kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine plus all the cups, glasses, pans, cutlery etc needed for a group of six people plus a dining table and six chairs. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom with its own private double doors also leading onto the courtyard.
First Floor: The main bedroom with oak beams and a countryside view from the window has a comfortable double-bed while the twin bedroom also with traditional oak beams, has a view across the millpond and orchard at the rear. The fitted bathroom has a bath/modern shower, toilet and washbasin.
Le Moulin de Boutineau and its three charming fully restored cottages lies in Indre-et-Loire, the tranquil countryside heart of the Loire Valley - but is not remote, just 2 kms from the famous medieval town of Loches, with its own chateau, restaurants, café’s, bars, shops and lively twice-weekly market.
Spend idyllic family days relaxing around a sparkling 12x6 metre heated swimming-pool with a nearby orchard activity area or explore the 15 acres of magnificent tree-lined grounds, fields and woods surrounding this peaceful old watermill that dates back to the 1730's. If you enjoy carp fishing there are carp (15-40 lbs plus) on the glorious private 2.5 acre Moulin Lake. The three delightful oak-beamed cottages which sleep 6, 4+1 and a romantic 2 can also accommodate an exclusive party of 13 and all have their own garden/patio and BBQ area, as well as cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, TV/DVD/stereo music tower, full central heating and access to washing/drying facilities, the swimming pool, hot-tub, bicycles, badminton and table-tennis.
Carp Fishing at Moulin de Boutineau: There is a glorious, private 2.5 acre lake where you can fish for carp (mirror & common 15-40 lbs plus) plus some large tench. It has level, easy walking access around the entire perimeter which is lined with a wide variety of mature trees, flowers and the abundant wildlife includes kingfishers and red squirrels. It is an idyllic, tranquil setting for carp fishing. There are five marked swims (max. 4 anglers), an accessible island, and we also have a range of standard carp fishing equipment for hire as well as a selection of quality baits available. Our beautiful, pristine fish will give you quite a fight, but are of course, just for catching, photographing and releasing again!
It is now possible to carp fish exclusively for 23 weeks of the season on the Moulin Lake, but only by booking the Fisherman's Cottage during the early/late periods of March-mid July and early September-November. The cost of exclusive carp fishing rights for the week for 2-4 anglers in the Fisherman's Cottage is included in the price shown. The cost of non-exclusive Carp Fishing during the High Summer season from mid-July to early September is 150 euros per angler per week or 50 euros per day and is NOT included in the price shown for this High Summer period. You must be staying here to carp fish on the lake, making it all a great combination of value, comfort, accessibility and privacy.
