Ocean front beach house with canal boat ramp. Amenities include beautiful view of the ocean all through the house. Two story house so only 1 flight of stairs! House is located on the pristine Dark Island rocks for excellent inland flats fishing year round! If scalloping is your desire, perfect access to scallops everywhere during the summer months. Across the street access to public boat ramp, along with private boat ramp on the Dark Island Canal. House accommodates 8 comfortably with 2 pop up twin beds stored in the master closet to allow house accommodation of 10 guests. You will love super quiet & intimate Dark Island! If you are wanting beautiful blue rolling waves, please look elsewhere. Taylor County coastline is a gigantic bay known for the best fishing and scalloping in the state!

Communication and all aspects were great. Would highly recommend as a great place to stay. Beware on the lower tides getting out to navigable waters can be challenging but this is nothing more than being awzre of the tide stages and planning accordingly. Will definitely return in the future

Very clean/tidy rental with a fantastic view of the Gulf. Only issues were getting sliding glass door locked/unlocked and having to haul off trash. Taylor county does not offer residential trash pick up, so it’s up to the RENTER to remove their trash(take it with them in other words). Think this should be included in the “cleaning fee”

Peaceful property
Property was just what we were looking for. Peaceful and quiet. Tides were in our favor during our stay, so we only had to walk the boat out once, and only for a few minutes. Beautiful sunsets on the deck. I will say, if your group really likes your morning coffee, bring your own coffee maker. There is only a small pod style coffee maker.

Nice and quiet
Very nice and quiet stay. We enjoyed watching the sunset every night. Keep and eye out for dolphins swimming by during the sunset hour! The night time star watching was great too! Dark island is fitting name to allow you to watch the stars! Internet speed was great (60 down and 50 up). Overall, great stay!

The house was clean and what she said said it was. Beautiful views! The only downside is the dock, rhe water is too shallow to dock your boat, so we uad to make different arrangements for that.

We came into town to visit my Dad, who lives in Perry. He was able to come and stay with us. The house is spacious and there was a room for each of us. The location is great with beautiful views. We will definitely stay here again.

Great home, location, and view. The only thing that would make the stay better is an actual channel that connects the canal to 3’ of water on the flats. Had to idle a long ways and get out of the boat twice to walk it in. Overall it was a great weekend.
