In desperate need of a refresh/update
The staff are great and the hotel foyer has been updated... but it ends there. The room, while large, is dated and in DESPERATE need of a renovation. The carpet was lifting everywhere and the decor screamed late 1990s or maybe 2001 at best. It looked tired, felt tired and even unclean. If it were not for the staff doing their absolute best, we'd have left.

An enjoyable and relaxing stay in Perth.
An enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Mercury. The room allocated was spacious, comfortable and clean. I used both the gym and swimming pool each day and both were very good. The gym was well equipped. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated with Perth city centre on a main bus route and 10 minutes walk to the main railway station in Perth.

Rooms clean & comfortable. Bar in the foyer has great service & selection. Only one lift working caused a big queue waiting to use it. Not enough staff on at breakfast, very limited food available, everything empty and lots of people standing around waiting to be refilled, dirty dishes piled up on tables, very expensive for a below average breakfast

No room to park for check in. There is no one to control the time limit for this so people just parked there car for over 45minutes. Also couldnt walk to our room as you could only go to floor 1 and needing another access card to go up levels. Only 1 elevator working and only small which is the reason why we tried walking. Showers not the cleanest. Needs more lighting in room and also tableside lamp not working. Tried calling reception and housekeeping and no one picked up as we were only given 2 towels for 4 guest. Will not be staying here again.

Several towels provided had stains. Only 1 lift is working. The lift comes slow. The door was not closed properly upon checked in. No toothbrush provided. Only 1 bottled water provided daily. The wifi connection in the room is very unstable, could not even connect my laptop at all throughout the stay.

The safe never worked and the shower was the most dangerous of any place i have ever stayed. Not rubber mats or handle bars in any of the showers. Very dangerous!!

Not much sleep with noisy/ squeaky pipe works / water system! Stained / dirty armchairs in room, I had to put a towel on the chair to sit on it! $45 parking per day was very expensive! No toaster or microwave in room.
