Agriturismo Tenuta il Polardo
The farmhouse is located in the Municipality of Piegaro at about 400 meters above sea level immersed in the green hills of Umbria near Città della Pieve, at Lake Trasimeno. The structure is enriched on the ground floor by two large common rooms with fireplace and a kitchen, ideal spaces for groups of friends and families, private parties.
Outside, under a kiwi pergola, it is possible to have breakfast while enjoying a wonderful view.
Space
These are 3 apartments equipped with a kitchen complete with accessories with private bathroom, ample parking, heating and air conditioning, furnished in style and equipped with all comforts and free wifi.
It is possible to organize upon request: excursions in the surrounding area, with various opportunities from a landscape, historical and cultural point of view; get-togethers for any occasion (baptisms, birthdays, private parties, New Year's Eve, etc...).
The structure is equipped with underfloor heating, the cost is not included and is calculated on the basis of actual consumption.
Guest access
In an extremely quiet area and with a fenced area of about 2000 m2, the property extends for over 12 hectares with vineyards, olive groves, woods and therefore offers the possibility of going on excursions on foot or by mountain bike.
Other things to keep in mind
The central location allows you to easily reach some of the most famous places in the region, for visits of historical and artistic interest, as well as religious. In the farmhouse it is possible to taste our local gastronomic specialities: oil and wine of our production.
Who we are
About 10 km from Città della Pieve, in the municipality of Piegaro, just before, coming from the north, the 33 km della Pievaiola which leads from the Pieve to Perugia, a short dirt road begins, the last stretch of which is bordered by rows of vines (one hectare about), on the right, and by olive trees (about 450), on the left, and which seems to end on the gate of a recently renovated farmhouse.
The original building was made up of three juxtaposed buildings built in different periods. The oldest part, the central one, consisted of an old farmhouse from the end of the nineteenth century with a large kitchen and a huge fireplace in the north-west corner; to this was added, probably in the 1920s, a new wing in the shape of a parallelepiped, clad externally with exposed stone, intended for stables; in more recent years a part in tuff had been added. The overall image of the building was also characterized by a loggia which through a stone staircase allowed access to the first floor, a large terrace facing north and a kiwi pergola on the south-east side.
Of the old farmhouse it was possible to preserve, obviously with appropriate restoration and consolidation works, the part built in the 1920s, while the rest was demolished and rebuilt on the basis of a project that aimed to exploit the best of the most modern construction techniques and systems aimed at energy saving, but at the same time has tried to remain faithful to the original complex by reinterpreting some distinctive features of the farmhouse such as the loggia, the terrace and the kiwi pergola.
The farmhouse currently offers guests three apartments with independent entrances, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor, and a bedroom with bathroom that can be connected to the apartment with entrance from the terrace.
The ground floor apartment has easy access and a bathroom with anteroom specifically designed to accommodate people with mobility difficulties without problems, a large kitchen, living room and bedroom with the option of a double bed or single beds and an extra cot. The kitchen is equipped with a hob with two electric burners and all the furnishings necessary to allow full autonomy for a family of three – four people.
The first floor apartment with entrance from the terrace consists of a kitchen, living room, a bedroom with the possibility of a double bed or single beds and a bathroom with a comfortable shower and hydromassage column. The kitchen is equipped with a hob with two electric burners and all the furnishings necessary to allow full independence for a family of two – three people. Guests can take advantage of the suitably furnished outdoor space of the terrace during their stay.
The first floor apartment with entrance from the loggia consists of a large kitchen/living room, a bedroom with the possibility of a double bed or single beds and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen is equipped with a hob with two electric burners and all the furnishings necessary to allow full independence for a family of three – four people. Guests can take advantage of the outdoor space under the suitably furnished loggia during their stay.
The bedroom with bathroom, on the first floor, is exposed on the south-east side of the house, can be double or with two single beds, has a bathroom equipped with a comfortable shower with hydromassage column.
The structure is enriched on the ground floor by a spacious and functional kitchen, equipped with an electric convection oven, a microwave oven, a refrigerator with a large freezer, an espresso coffee machine and all the furnishings and crockery necessary for groups of family and/or friends. There is also a large living room which offers guests a pleasant and bright space for reading and conversation and a pleasant area for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The living room overlooks the kiwi pergola and can be used in all seasons, even for convivial occasions and private parties.
From the pergola, a few steps lead to the swimming pool area equipped with umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers. The swimming pool is infinity on three sides: you enter the water from a comfortable staircase which also allows for a sort of whirlpool and the possibility of enjoying the beauty of the Umbrian landscape.
The area of the estate extends for about 14 hectares which includes vineyards, olive groves, woods and arable areas and allows for peaceful walks to discover suggestive and often surprising corners (the ancient horse trough, the path to the Pocciarello stream, the path immersed in the greenery up to the Cerretello stream), but there is also a specific area of fenced garden around the house which takes advantage of the slopes of the land and has tried to integrate the elements
the natural landscaping and the new plants planted (the large walnut tree that stands out towards the south-east, the apricot tree between the farmhouse and the shed, the fruit trees scattered in harmonious disorder, the bushes of roses, lavender, sage and rosemary to delimit the ledge of the play area and the pool area). In the garden other spaces paved in terracotta, like all the sidewalks around the house, allow guests moments of peaceful relaxation and in some cases also offer breathtaking landscapes of the surrounding area.
