Huge Private Backyard! Hosts 6, Centrally Located

A mild climate, fresh mountain air, fertile soil, and, of course, plenty of towering pine trees… It's easy to see why Pine-Strawberry's original settlers decided to call this spot home in the late 19th century. Enjoy your time in the cozy, quiet village of Pine in an adorable cabin that has everything you need for the perfect mountain getaway. With elk wandering the neighborhoods, Pine is cool in the summer and enjoys light snow cover in the winter to make it perfect year-round. This home is close to the local grocery store and a short walk to a popular local restaurant. The cabin is a single level with two split master suites, a kid's room with dedicated workspace, a pull-out couch, and two bathrooms. The large kitchen has everything you need to make a favorite meal and enjoy it at the beautiful dining table.

The backyard is spacious with a fire pit and plenty of seating, and a hammock.. Enjoy lazy afternoons in the gazebo with the comfortable patio furniture and fire table with mountain views. There is roomy parking and a yard with a weeping willow, Ponderosa pine, native and fruit trees - this is your chance to decompress in some cool mountain air. Propane is not provided, but easily obtained at the nearby grocery store.

The primary bedroom has a queen bed, large screen smart tv and an attached bathroom. The secondary bedroom features two queen size bunk beds, with their own smart tv for each bed! The third room has a twin bed, designed especially for the younger members of your group and includes a dedicated workspace. The living room has a large screen smart tv, a queen-size pull-out bed, and plenty of seating for the group. The stocked kitchen has all necessary tools to cook and shares the space with a log dining table. All TVs include Hulu, Netflix, Disney+ and Discovery channel. An added bonus is space for an RV and/or secured trailer parking for your outdoor toys! The home hosts a 12' RV gate and space for side by sides and quads if you happen to bring those along.

Notable sights within the town include the historic post office, established in 1884, and the Pine-Strawberry Museum, which opened in 1979 and takes its name from Pine and its sister community of Strawberry. Featuring artifacts that focus on the prehistory and history of towns, this gem is a must-see during your visit.

Looking to get out of town for a bit? Nearby Bear Canyon Lake and Knoll Lake offer plenty of outdoor fun. Pitch a tent, cast a line for rainbow, brown, and brook trout, or just enjoying taking a boat out on the sparkling water. Wrap your arms around one of the huge Ponderosa Pines that have been growing for hundreds of years in the Tonto National Forest Preserve that surrounds the quaint mountain town of Pine.

About 10 miles south of town examine another natural wonder, Tonto Natural Bridge – one of the world's only natural travertine bridges. The beauty doesn't stop there. This lovely town at the base of Arizona's famous Mogollon Rim also has seven lakes nearby. The fishing can't be beat!

Gold in the hills – discovered around 1875 – began the influx of settlers to the area. They also established the Strawberry Schoolhouse in 1885. It still stands today as the oldest schoolhouse in Arizona and is open for tours May through mid-October.

Time your visit right to take part in the annual Pine-Strawberry Summer Fest, usually in early June. Small-town charm, beautiful scenery, cool mountain air, live music, crafts, and food fill the festival weekend.

This home can experience inclement weather in the winter months. A guest may need to utilize an all-wheel or front-wheel drive/high clearance vehicle to access the home, depending upon recent snowfall or rainfall. All efforts possible are provided to ensure homes are easily accessible, but we still recommend that guests purchase travel insurance if there are any worries about experiencing northern Arizona winter weather.

Cute But Needs Work
The home was super cute when we first arrived. When we started dinner and leading to when we went to bed the issues snowballed. The listing claims that there are BBQ grills; however, the property management does not provide propane for them nor do they provide propane for the fire pit out back. We filled one tank and expected compensation but was not offered that nor did we get a thank you. Instead we were told "propane is not supplied." The advertising should definitely be updated to reflect this. We decided to pay it forward at any rate for the next guests. The home was filthy as we settled in. There was an oreo in my son's bed, mnms on the floor etc. We reported this upon checkin and got a "thanks" nothing else. The home is cute, but the property management company needs some work. Tons of potential here :)
