A deceptively spacious hotel with lovely individual rooms. Quiet too although on the main street. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice. Would thoroughly recommend.

There was nothing wrong with this property. Our room was fine but access to the rooms, out the back of the restaurant having walked past people eating, was not ideal. I had to report the hairdryer as it was making a terrible noise and overheated which I feared could be dangerous. Breakfast was satisfactory.

McKays is not so much a hotel as a pub complex with rooms. Our room was excellent, quite newly decorated with a great bed and a good TV. It did overlook the compressors for the pub equipment in the yard so if it's warm and you want the window open it's a bit loud. Otherwise the room was great, bathroom and shower were excellent. There is a very small car park so don't rely on getting your car in, and on-street parking nearby is difficult. There are public car parks nearby which are free from 6pm to 8am. Location is really excellent, right in the centre of Pitlochry. Staff didn't seem terribly happy. There is a residents entrance which gets you out towards the back of the place and the car park but there's some sort of drain which means you're always stepping over a trickle of foul-looking liquid as you enter or leave. A rubber link mat might sort that. McKays is a complex of bar/restaurant, ice cream stand, fish and chip shop and there's a townhouse across the road, so it's not quite a small family run business. The above sounds overly negative but to summarise, our room was excellent, some issues were sorted very quickly, and the central location is hard to beat. Car parking would be the only deal breaker in terms of our returning.

Great hotel a good base for walking.

A very lovely hotel close to the train station, only took us 2 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. First impressions were great, food was good in the restaurant, then we got checked in, room was lovely. We stayed in room 207. Although the noise from the fans outside did keep us awake at night.That was with the window closed as well. The room did become quite warm as we could not sleep with the window open because of the noise outside. I wonder if there was any way that these fans could be covered? So that the noise is not affecting the sleep of customers. Apart from that could not fault our stay.

Fabulous Quirky Hotel !

Fabulous gem in the centre of Pitlochry. We had the small double which was fine for the one night. My parents had the larger double & huge bed. Lovely Highland Soap toiletries in the toilets. The staff were really lovely and attentive. Fantastic breakfast the following morning. It would have been good to have the option of fresh fruit.

Enjoyed my last minute stay at the property. The !@-receptionist changed our room to the upgraded modern rooms. The foos in the restyarnt was lovemy would recommend the chicken fajitas and the chocolate fudge cake. Will definitely be making ankther visit

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was lovely and good menu for dinner. Hotel very close to shops, transport etc. Great walks locally. Staff were excellent.
