The hotel has some beautiful views, however rhe staff is very unhelpful and not friendly at all except for Nancy, she a the captain of the waiters. The food was such a disappointment. Food qas terrible, the taste and quality.

Positive: The resort itself is stunning, large natural gardens, local wildlife which adds a unique touch. Staff at restaurants, pools, and rooms were courteous. The food was OK, buffets were mostly repetitive. We didn’t find but few authentic Mexican options, items like quesadillas were unavailable. Opportunities: Check-in and Luggage Delivery: Upon arrival, we entrusted our luggage to the bellboy, were told it would be promptly delivered to our room. After a lengthy check-in process and a forced return to the lobby to get a functioning room key, it took another 30 minutes to get our luggage Room Condition: The bathroom sink was cracked; Both sofa cushions were stained, with unclear origins (e.g., oil, wine, other?). Despite requesting replacement, they were never changed, forcing us to cover them with towels. Adult-Only Pool Area: Children were often present despite the multiple family-friendly pools available. This, along with guests drinking inside the pools, leaving empty cans and glasses -many ended inside the pool-, suggested a lack of supervision. Dress Code: At the Steak House, we observed guests dressed in Tank & shorts despite a stated dress code. The hostess indicated she was unable to enforce the policy. All-inclusive? we were surprised by the extra charges for certain wines, liquors and food We believe that with better oversight into cleanliness, logistics, organization, and policy enforcement, the resort has great potential.

Beautiful setting with a lot of nature..rooms a little in the old side, water pressure in shower was very bad and water kept getting hot and then cold ..also scheduled a in room breakfast and did not get it because the guest services representative did not scheduled it ..over all it was a pleasant stay and my family enjoyed it

This is a very nice place, it could use some repairs in certain areas, but overall it is a nice place. The tide pool and beach areas are very nice, some Mayan ruins to explore and a host of other things. Was our first trip to Mexico and will be coming back

Everything was so nice and convenient. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. Golf carts all around the resort for easy transportation and many restaurant options. Amazing experience.

Oct 2024, My family and I stayed one week at this resort. Each day in this room we had horrible water smell and brown water from the sink and shower. The water pressure fluctuated heavily. I had to double check this was listed as a 5 star resort. I have been to motel 8s with nicer rooms and cleaner water. The second night at the resort, we noticed water stains on the ceiling of our room along with drywall damage. We notified the staff. A reparman arrived and said "wow" he took a photo and left. No room change. The third night, we had a heavy rain storm. My room had a huge water leak, water poured in our room in two locations. The light socket above the tv, which poured water on my samsung tablet. The second leak was near the ac vent. This leak created a 5 foot puddle in the room, and the noise of the water splashing awoke me at 5am. The hotel staff changed our room. However, did not feel the need to compensate My family for our troubles. The new room was adequate but still had maintenance issues as the shower door did not close. Water leaking through electric outlets is extremely dangerous. I will not subject my family to this resort again. Something they don't tell you anywhere is the number of times you can have dinner at the restaurants depends on the nights you stay. We stayed one week and were allowed 4 dinner reservations.

Beautiful grounds. As a platinum VIP, I wasnt given any upgrades and was asked to pay for late checkout and declined for early checkin. I asked for a partial refund for a park pass I wasnt going to use due to rain. No help there either.

It’s a beautiful hotel that requires a lot of walking. Food is average staff was friendly at first but when we decided not to entertain the idea of booking with the Barcelo Group, the attitude changed towards us. The one thing I disliked the most is how insistent the staff was on promoting The Barcelo Group, insinuating several times that Expedia was ripping me off. Expedia customers do receive different treatment from The Barcelo Group customers.

An amazing stay at this resort. Food options are good, they have little shops for just about anything, and they offer free live music/performances. This resort is also a great place to stay if anyone is planning to visit Xcaret and Xplor parks.
