Nice area , friendly staff, but the room was dirty, never cleaned the floors not even the bathroom, requested 3 times never send the cleaning staff. Cleaning persons gladly take your tip but never clean, did not fill the fridge with water or anything else!

It's very large property with lots to do. As you enjoy your walk, you can see many different live animals throughout the property and its beautiful, nice, quiet and safe. Even though there are many guests, since property is so huge you don't feel like it's crowded at all. Their lagoon beach area has enough shades and branches you can relax. I loved the adult only swim area near the lagoon. You can swim with lots of tropical fishes! Servers don't come around often enough so get your drink soon as you see them😅

Our stay in Occidental was awesome. The staff were friendly and attentive. The best part was seeing the wildlife walking through around the property. The monkeys roaming around outside our balcony during our stay was a great treat. The food was great. We enjoyed the buffet by the beach more so than the main buffet inside the hotel.

Facilities were clean & well maintained. The resort was a little too big for my liking, beach was 3/8 mile to beach area from room. The resort does not have long beach access, very limited to a cove area which is very nice but you can not go on long walks down the beach. Food was also a little on the bland side compared to many other resorts I’ve been to in Riviera Maya.Overall give this resort a 7 out of 10.

This property is absolutely stunning! It was my first visit here with my daughter and we both truly enjoyed it! We had an Expedia lounge at the bottom of building with coffee and cookies. The natural wildlife is amazing as well monkeys visited us every morning. We will be returning for sure and this time taking my son.
