Welcome to our home, CASA COSTA PALMERA, steps away from the Pacific Ocean on the wonderful sands of Playa Grande, Costa Rica. Nestled in the coconut palm trees, built on the sands of the beach, Casa Costa Palmera (sleeps 13) is a vacation home that will leave you breathless. Travel + Leisure Magazine rated COSTA RICA Destination of the year 2024.
Playa Grande has been rated in the top 30 as one of the best beaches on earth. Casa Costa Palmera just so happens to be exactly 40 paces away from where the picture were taken for the magazine. Swim and surf right outside the house. NO volcanic rock obstructions which limit water activities at other nearby beaches. We are located in
Playa Grande 200 meters north of the Hotel Las Tortugas. OUR HOUSE IS LOCATED ON THE BEACH. Literally, the beach is your backyard.

Costa Palmera has one of the best beachfront views on the entire coast. Whether you are coming to the gorgeous Central American country of Costa Rica for a great adventure or to get away from it all, we can accommodate you. The amazing hand crafted woodwork and the beautiful granite counter tops inside this 4 bedroom beach home will truly make you feel like you are on a vacation for the memories. Our home has a privately built-in swimming pool with swim-up stools and BBQ area. Excellent maid service is included daily. We provide linens and beach/bath towels. Cooking is available at an additional cost. Theo, a private masseuse can be hired and massages performed on the premises. Guard on the property at night.

Unlike many vacation properties, Costa Palmera is open and airy, doused with a contemporary touch in the interior of the home. This 4-bedroom beach house has furnishings in every room, along with air conditioning in all rooms. The kitchen and dining room face out towards the ocean leaving for an alluring view of the Pacific Ocean and magnificent sunsets at dusk. The house is equipped with WIFI, making it possible for one to accomplish their daily tasks at work while basking in the sun and enjoying their tropical get away.

Also known as Las Baulas National Marine Park, Playa Grande is a sanctuary for the leatherback turtles whom every year return to the shoreline to lay their eggs. Because the beachfront is nationally protected, it is one of the cleanest beaches in the country. The shoreline is also relatively flat, making for a great place to take your shoes off and go for an evening walk after dinner. Whether you’re on a honeymoon or a surprise birthday vacation, executive or yoga retreat, Costa Palmera is fully equipped to handle
all groups.

Known for its consistent world-class surf, Playa Grande is a surfer’s paradise. The winds are frequently off shore making for well-shaped waves and great surf. Unlike many prestigious surf breaks, the flat, sand-bottomed beach of Playa Grande makes it possible for surfers of all skill levels to have a great time. Surf lessons are just a phone call away right out in front of the villa.
There are a few boogie boards at the house.

The things to do are left to the imagination to explore, including golfing, horseback riding, rain forest excursions, volcano tours, ATVing, fishing, sailing, and much more.

With Playa Flamingo to the north and the quaint beach town of Tamarindo a few miles to the south, Playa Grande is at the epicenter of Guanacaste. Tamarindo has great nightlife on weekends and is a great place to have a lively evening with friends and family. There are a few family owned restaurants near the house, along with a fully equipped surf shop to rent surf boards and/or purchase apparel and many other items.

The owners take great care making sure Casa Costa Palmera is the best rental house on the beach. Repairs and upgrades occur frequently as the proximity to salt water and air can wear on the house quicker than non-beachfront homes. Please immediately alert staff and management if anything is NOT working properly at the house. We need to know.

Wonderful House on the Beach for a Family

The villa is on the most beautiful beach of Costa Rica, Playa Grande. The house is very well equiped in the kitchen as well as in the other rooms. The AC perfectly works, which allows everybody to live and sleep well. The house is well maintained and cleaned by a staff that exceed our expectations. When a problem is raised, they take actions to promply resolve it. The next guests must know about the public parking next to the property because there are many tico's during the weekend; but the tico's are peaceful and no problems occured. We love this villa and its location. Playa Grande is a wonderful quiet beach. We recommend this place to guests with family.

The house was perfect for our group. We loved that we could walk out the door and be on the beautiful beach. Tatiana, Teu, Johnny, and Marco took wonderful care of us. The dinner Tatiana cooked for us and the massages were two of our favorite memories from the trip. I would be thrilled to stay there again.

great stay on the beach

shawna is available and quickly helpful. house is right on the beach. house is older, but comfortable with good a/c. we didn't use the small pool. consistent waves were good for boogie boarding, but a bit strong for novice surfing. house is next door to the public parking lot, so dozens of families with barbecues out front every day (it was holiday time), most of the playa grande beach is almost empty, so we were surprised, but eventually got used to the company. friendly staff watching the house 24/7. cook made great breakfasts. restaurants nearby were so-so. no turtles on the beach any more. activities: i don't recommend the evening turtle tour as it involved a much harder, longer trek than was described plus 50 tourists gawking at 2 poor mama turtles trying to bury their eggs. on the other hand, highly recommend autogyro tamarindo - it's fantastic.

Palm Tree Dreams

The house and its location are perfect; walking distance to town with beach outside your backdoor, on a more mild surf break but walking distance to the larger, and just a short and easy trip from the airport or to neighboring cities/towns. The conceirge service and staff are phenomenal, super laid back and friendly, and very, very helpful. This was our seconde stay. Looking forward to the next.

Tropical Paradise

Fully equipped with every imaginable kitchen accessory (except a cocktail shaker!) Wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows, and a truly paradise setting right on the beach. Dirt/sand access road could use a bit of work, but the house is marvelous. We will be back.

Everything was as post plus. Ground personal was there early to set up chairs on the beach and more. Maid was great. Had a minor problem but was taken care of. I give it 11 out of 10. will be coming back with all the family in the future.

This was my second year vacationing at this property. The house is great. Right on the beach. Steps from the sand. I love the location. Watching sunsets every night. Laying in hammocks every day. The only downside is the public parking next door and not much privacy.

Such a great trip!

My husband, young adult grandkids, and their significant others stayed for a week. The house was perfect. Clean. On the beach. It was nice to have the pool also. Tatiana is a wonderful housekeeper and cook. She cooked for us 3 evenings. Spectacular. Most of the time we stayed home and played in the water. I would do it again.

Incredible experience

Thanks to Shawna and Tatiana for being the best hosts. The place is amazing, right on the beach. We surfed, boogie boarded, walked the beach, kids played in the pool and watched the sunset, pretty much every day. Tatiana was awesome and cooked for us the entire time which was delicious and a nice relief for us so we could enjoy vacation. The beach gets busy out front on the weekends but everyone is super friendly and respectful.

If you have never been to a tropical beach paradise....and you want to, but you're a little concerned how to pull it off, book this property! Besides it being an absolute perfect beach house on an absolutely perfect and remote tropical beach, the staff that manages this property is the secret sauce. Shawna manages the property and lives in the Playa Grande community. She will not only make sure that your accommodations are first class, but she will also help you navigate everything from a massage on your porch while listening to the surf....to surf lessons...to meal preparation for your group...to connecting with scores of guided and unguided adventure excursions throughout Guanacaste. All this comes at an incredibly reasonable cost per night. My wife and I are VRBO hosts at a couple U.S. properties and can attest to the fact that this property is EXTRAORDINARY! Thanksgiving in Paradise

Casa Palmera was like Paradise for our group of 12 made up of families (age range 17 - 54). The beach out the front door is exceptional. We surfed every day we were there. Tatiana cooked for our group all week and her food was delicious. She was especially attentive to the dietary restrictions several of us had. The house was very comfortable and exactly matched all the descriptions. Shawna, the property manager, was a dream to work with. She scheduled our activities and transportation for the entire week, including several last-minute adjustments. We had absolutely nothing to worry about for the entire week. Thank you Shawna!!

Great location and house

On the beach. 4 bed/5 bath. Shawna helped to book activities (and make changes) and Tatyana’s mom provides excellent massages. The house was clean, beds comfy and a full kitchen with more then you need. I Felt secure in the evenings. Bring your own toiletries like lotion, shampoo, soap.

Perfect beach getaway.

The house was perfect. Private pool area to cool off. Location was incredible. Being right on the beach, there is no reason to leave the property. Boogie boards and bikes were fun. Staff were helpful and someone was always available. I hope to be able to come back again soon. I Loved my stay at Costa Palmera.

A wonderful week at Casa Costa Palmera

The house was very comfortable and spacious for our group of 7 people. There was plenty of seating and spots to occupy while seeking a few minutes to relax alone. The house highlights included comfortable beds, outside lounge chairs, the pool, and of course the house staff! Tatiana was in the house nearly every day, but her presence never felt intrusive. She took care of our basic linen and cleaning needs while also cooking 3 dinners (the Casados and tacos were favorites) and managing daily laundry loads (there is a washer and dryer on the property, but not available to guests directly). Jonny maintained the grounds and watched out for transportation vehicles for us. Marco was ever watchful of the property at night and greeted us when returning from dinners out. The experience felt more like staying in a mini hotel than a VRBO house. As my wife said, this was the best beach vacation ever and Casa Costa Palmera was the centerpiece of the experience. Now the beach... The ocean was warm and the waves were perfect for boogie boarding and surfing (and lessons for some of us!). Sunsets are absolutely magical from the beach and varied nightly. There were more stars in the sky at night than we ever saw! Thank you for a great week! I hope we can come back again someday.

The property was very clean and had everything we needed as far as cooking utensils and lots of games, linens etc. The staff was lovely and ready to assist with anything, we really enjoyed meeting them. We had an incredible stay here! Check-in was easy, and the house was very clean and spacious. Shawna was very responsive to any of our needs as well. We had Tatiana cook three meals for us, and they were all delicious and well worth it. We also got massages at the house that were incredibly relaxing. There are several great restaurants just minutes from the house as well. We felt very safe the entire time and loved relaxing in the hammocks, enjoying the pool, and searching for seashells. The beach is beautiful, and the waves are great. They have everything you need here! I would 100% recommend it, and I would love to stay here again in the future!
