Lux Riverfront, HotTub, In/Outdoor Fireplace &Fun!

Newly remodeled, 3 Bedroom w/HotTub & Amazing River Views. 1500 sq ft, w/3 bedrooms (2 king & 1 double), 1 air mattress & couch in Living Room. Smart TVs, 2 ceramic tile showers, fully equipped kitchen w/filtered water & Hinckley Spring H2O delivery, designer cement countertops, LARGE island for entertaining, abundant windows & light, woodburning fireplace, deck rope lighting, grill & steps away to the riverside fire-pit & hammocks.
The space
Hot Tub is for use all year round; Hot/Cold weather.

Home directly across from a very secluded wooded area separated by Spencer Creek. Fishing/Hunting is abundant/Kayaking is available (must bring your own)/Bonfires are permitted/encouraged for hot dog roasting and ghost story telling. We will try to have firewood avail & bug spray for those that are sensitive (Wood in the Garage; Bug Spray on patio and kitchn closet). If out of season to get bulk firewood to supply, they sell bundles at Home Depot, Lowes, Hy-Vee Grocery etc. only 10-15 minutes away. Reminder, we also have a gas grill on the upper deck next to the hot tub area, and we now have a charcoal smoker unit (Cherry Chips flavor) for use as well. We will try to have Charcoal and flavor chips avail if needed, if not Hy-Vee would be the closet place to grab some!

2 rope tree hammocks avail in season at the point of the yard @ waterfront, all in all, family fun is plentiful! Plenty of space for any overflow guests who may want to camp-out in the large grass yard area.

The wildlife is STUNNING with Bald Eagles, Canadian Geese, Storks, Cranes, Pelicans, Hummingbirds, etc. etc. etc. for all viewing pleasure. There is a veggie and herb garden (season permitting) that you are free to access and cook with. We will work hard to ensure you have a welcome bottle of red/white wine awaiting your check-in. :) Once settled, please have a cocktail (or 2) and just kick back and relax as the entire place is your home away from home while you visit.
Guest access
Whole house and yard are yours to use. Barn and Garage will not be available unless there is inclement weather and we can help as needed.
Other things to note
LeClaire Iowa, 5-10 min away, is also a very walking friendly old River Town located by the Railroad tracks on the river. You will find many eateries, coffee houses, wine shops/tastings and antiques. Is also the home to American Pickers & Antique Archaeology from The History Channel & the annual Cross River Tugfest & Fireworks.

The local Pleasant Valley restaurants/bars (Valley Inn & Mickey's Breakfast) are within 5 minutes as well as a local Antique shop across from the old Pleasant Valley Post Office - distance is less than a mile. BP is same location & provides snacks, drinks, hard liquor, beer sales etc.

A bit of History of the Valley Inn on main Highway:
(Including rumors Al Capone frequented Valley Inn in Pleasant Valley);

Pleasant Valley is one of the oldest towns in Iowa. It was first settled in the early 1830's and the first business was an old grist mill that sat near where the Valley Inn stands today. Soon thereafter, a sawmill was built nearby. These two businesses helped with the development of early settlements in the immediate area.

In the late 1830's or early 1840's a hotel/tavern was built on the spot where Valley Inn sits today. The original rubble foundation still exists and is visible on the exterior of the restaurant. Eventually, the second floor was turned into an elaborate ballroom before the place was turned into what was believed to be a gambling hall in the late 1800's. The upstairs ballroom was eventually replaced by two apartments which remained in place before a complete remodel of the Valley Inn took place in 2012.

When Prohibition took hold in 1919, it was rumored that the Valley Inn became a speakeasy and hangout for organized crime members. Al Capone was said to have frequented the Valley Inn before he was convicted on income tax evasion in 1931.

The Valley Inn has undergone a number of owners over the years. After serving in the army in World War II, Ambrose Carlin came home and bought the Valley Inn in 1948. He ran the place for 30 years before he retired and his daughter Frances Devlin took over. The normally is full of people and has a great patio out back. The age mix of people in the place ranged from their early 20's into their 70's. Renovated in 2012 gave the place a very needed face-lift including a new kitchen and bar area. Check it out - it's walkable if you wish from the house, or just a 3 minute drive.

Delightful escape!
The home was perfect for a girls weekend with three of us. The pictures were accurate. The kitchen was well stocked, everything worked well and lots of appliances. Hot tub was amazing! Beds were very comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful riverfront location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with an amazing view of the river. It was great to watch the barges and wildlife from the hot tub. The home is ideally located central to all the Quad Cities offers, including the cute town of LeClaire. Stocked with everything a family could need, coupled with a responsive host, this home is a home run!

Perfect for a getaway
Our stay was wonderful! The waterfront all around the house was just a dream. It was so peaceful. Also, we had alot of fun making smores at the fire pit and relaxing in the hut tub. We took our kids to a water park on a really hot day and they really enjoyed that. The next day we took them to Iron Tee Golf for lunch and a round of golf. Met some cool neighbors and even had them over to make smores with us. All in all, it was a really great experience and the time went by way to fast. Highly recommend for a relaxing family trip.

You had me at bald eagles
I wanted a view. What I got was nesting eagles in the tree out my window, a nightly roaring fire with ample wood supply, super responsive host, welcome wine and snacks, comfortable beds and high end baths, white linens and privacy. If you don’t mind steps to enter the home, and some personal touches throughout (books, candles, travel trinkets, mugs, condiments, kid fun) you will enjoy your stay very much! Want a pristine hotel, choose a hotel. Want eagles, geese and pelicans + a private stay with panoramic river views in a well loved well maintained home. This is your place.

Wonderful Place to Stay!
We loved our experience here, we immediately felt like we were home. In the first 30 mins of vacation I got stung in the nose by a wasp. I'd still rate this vacation spot 10/10, that's how good it was 😅 we enjoyed adding fresh mint from the property to our cocktails and had the juiciest tomato from the garden. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I definitely recommend this spot

a wonderful getaway
Check-in and out was simple - only a couple of steps to follow, unlike some other properties that I have stayed at. You can hear a train every so often, and there's river traffic, but it's mostly very quiet. the beds were comfortable, the showers were great, the views were amazing, and we wanted for nothing. Just a heads-up that there's no way into the property without climbing some steps - it's up high to keep out flooding. So if you have issues with climbing a flight of stairs, keep that in mind. If I'm ever in the area again, I will book here again!

Amazing riverfront experience
I visited with my mother, sister, and niece for a girl’s weekend. We have never explored the Quad Cities and wanted a place near the river. We could not have asked for a better place! The Mississippi is steps away from the house. You literally fall asleep to the sound of waves on the shoreline. The house was stocked better than any rental house I’ve seen. You will want for nothing, and your hosts are incredibly accommodating. The check in and out process was also much simpler than others I’ve experienced. We loved it here.

River House Get Away
We were in town for a birthday and have to say the house was great. Secluded at the end of a gravel road in a riverfront neighborhood you will find the owner's house. While it looks like every other house, once inside we found welcome snacks, wine and a welcome message on the chalkboard pantry door. The house was STOCKED with so much, be sure you double check the house before you have to run out to the store. Plenty of books, music and games to keep busy with relaxing. the beds were all super comfortable and can't forget the spa like showers. Sunrises and sunsets along the river are as good as anywhere. The owner is very quick to respond and has done a great job making his home a "get away" spot.
