This 1300 square foot home is being fully renovated (new kitchen, floors, bathrooms, paint, etc.) and will be available beginning June 15, 2022. The home will have a queen bed, 4 full size beds, and a toddler bed.

Port Austin is a true gem on Michigan’s thumb coast and just a 2 hour drive from metro-Detroit:

- Swim the blue waters of Lake Huron and relax on multiple sandy beaches

- Kayak to Michigan landmarks like Turnip Rock, Broken Rocks, and multiple sea caves

- Hike the trails and sand dunes of Port Crescent State Park and try to catch the Northern Lights - one of the only spots Aurora is visible in Michigan

- Explore Point Aux Barques Lighthouse

- Let the kids cool down at the splash pad while you enjoy Lake Huron views

- Visit the Butterfly House and Gardens

- Enjoy beer and wine tasting at Bird Creek Farms

We chose this property because it sleeps up to 8 (9 if you have a toddler), and for the proximity to Lake Huron. This location was perfect, with the great feel of a home instead of a hotel. It was well-stocked with everything we needed, including cutlery, plates, glasses, serving utensils, etc, plenty of towels, places to put luggage, clean linens, and had both a nice firepit area (complete with firewood) and a grilling/patio area with a gas grill. The beds were comfortable, everything was updated and clean, and the off-street parking for two vehicles was excellent. The beds were comfortable, as well. We liked that the door opened with a code, which means that anyone in our party could come and go as they liked and our personal things stayed secure. The host had great communication and was very polite and warm. We would definitely stay here again!

The cottage had plenty of space for a group of friends on a weekend getaway. It was clean and cute. The location was in close to the heart of downtown Port Austin. The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful!

We had the absolute best vacation staying at this home right in downtown Port Austin! The location is prime to downtown and the beach. Such an easy check-in process and the home was perfect for a girls weekend! Great communication all around and all needs/expectations were met!

Great place to stay
The coastal cottage is very spacious. All the beds were very comfortable. You can probably tell from the pictures but the appliances are modern as are most of the things you find in the cottage. The location is great! We were able to walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.

Super cute and cozy cottage
Great location on a quiet street, within walking distance of almost everything. We stayed the weekend for a family wedding and it slept 9 of us comfortably and was a great lay out for all of us. Super cute decor, and extremely clean. We also loved how convenient the key pad access was. We would definitely rent again.
