Escape in style to the incredible natural beauty and tranquility of the Olympic Peninsula at the Wild Oyster Lodge. This expansive log home, set on high-bank water-front and surrounded by towering pines, provides sweeping views of Hood Canal from its large deck and oversized chef's kitchen. You will enjoy the rugged beauty of the sea and woods from the comfort of this well-appointed, contemporary home with elevated décor and furnishings. It's a perfect jumping off point to explore the Olympic Peninsula.
Wild Oyster Lodge sits on Dabob Bay, a secluded bay on the north Hood Canal, surrounded by protected wilderness and a quarter-mile down the beach from one of Taylor Shellfish's oyster farms. Eagles and seals are your neighbors and the rocky beach (accessible by a long set of stairs, which is quite steep) abounds with fresh oysters. The home is located 15 minutes from Olympic National Park (with Mt. Walker and Canyon Falls trailheads nearby), and the quaint town of Quilcene 10 minutes away. Get out on the pristine waters of Dabob Bay with a pair of kayaks, explore the coastline or make the round trip to nearby Dabob Broad Spit, a boat-access only state park nearby with an incredible 3 story driftwood fort built by campers over decades.
The home has two large bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and bonus room with daybed to provide a comfortable stay for two families or a few groups of friends. The large sunroom and living room provide plenty of space to relax, play games or cozy up near the gas fireplace. One of the highlights of this getaway is the large professional kitchen, with seating for 8, and a granite island for breakfast, oysters or wine tasting. If you prefer outdoor cooking, there is also a Weber gas grill ready for you. Fiber Internet was recently installed, providing super fast speeds to allow for video calls and streaming movies.
Although its seclusion is one of its most unique features, this place may not be for everyone. It's a great place to connect and kick back, but it is intentionally TV- less. The nearby town of Quilcene only offers a few spots to eat and a small but well-supplied market(Quilcene Village Store), so it's recommended to pack groceries before you arrive and take advantage of the indoor/outdoor cooking and dining spaces at The Wild Oyster. The home has 2 outdoor security cameras, a doorbell camera on the front door and a camera monitoring the upper driveway.
