We stay here every year at Christmas time to go shopping. It’s a great hotel. We did notice that housekeeping was slipping a bit this time. Stuff not restocked. We had to get coffee pods and paper cups because they weren’t replenished in between guests. The pillows were not as comfortable as they usually are. Didn’t feel “hotel quality” at all. Little things that could be improved on. Will stay again.

Bad renovations
Not impressed with the renovations. We have been staying at this hotel for years and enjoyed the room feel, comfort, function, and charm. It seems Marriott made some "upgrades" and cheaped out over function and comfort. Whoever was in charge of selecting furniture gets a prize for finding the most uncomfortable "couch" ever - like sitting on a cement block. They also chose to get rid of box springs in favor of a wooden platform that extends just the right amount to ensure you whack your shin every time you walk around the bed. Now I have some nice bruises to remember my trip by. The wardrobe is too small and the desk chair is a weird unadjustable, uncomfortable reclined design. New doors to the room are set to default slam mode so forget about sleeping in as other guests filter out in the morning. Slam. Slam. Doze back off. Slam. I feel bad for kids and anyone under 5 feet tall trying to reach the toiletries in the shower bolted to the wall too high. I appreciate Marriott's attempts at sustainability and I am happy to reuse towels, but there is only one towel rack big enough for a bath towel. Another annoyance at this site is that they removed the hot tub and evidently have to intention of replacing it. Just bad reno choices overall. The room was clean and the staff was helpful getting me all the things I needed (more coffee, towels, and pillows). We typically stay here at least a couple times a year. We'll probably try someplace else next time.
