This is a funky old hotel in excellent condition conveniently located for us. Staff are friendly and helpful, plenty of parking. Not a cookie cutter hotel if that's what you're looking for.
Not sure we got the room we paid for because it was supposed to have bay windows but the room was fine. Because the room was booked through Expedia the staff didn’t know what we paid compared to room we got. Otherwise, the place is an excellent choice for budget travelers. Be aware…no elevators for those having problems with stairs. Request a room on first floor.
Clean quaint hotel, but I did not realized that the room I booked it did not have a private bathroom, That was very inconvenient for me. Otherwise the room was fine.
It’s a historic hotel. I had a very good living experience. Thank you.

A charming inn, though decor & carpeting are pretty tired. Staff was a mixed bag-- from extremely helpful and accommodating experienced staff to lackadaisical and unhelpful younger staff-- maybe just a generational thing. I appreciated the breakfast & always available coffee & snacks. Parking was an issue-- their lot was full of people who weren't staying at the Inn-- I ended up having to park far down a sketchy street both nights I stayed.
I would still go back-- it had much more character than plain vanilla hotels.
We were put in a room that did not have an in-room bathroom so we had to leave our room with the bathroom key to get to our bathroom. The bathroom also had no ventilation and never totally dried. While the overall building was clean and well decorated the bathroom felt a bit grimy and the room was very small. This part of town is also probably ideal to stay in if you are going to a sport event (right by the arenas) or the hospital, but is several miles from Old Port and the downtown. Portland isn't exactly dangerous but it's not a very well-lit or well-traveled walk from the Inn to the harbor. Breakfast was very decent here and the staff was nice.
Very cute inn at a convenient location in portland. The room was very cleanly even though it was dog friendly, no dog or any smells at all. Bathroom was a separate door down the hall, and it was also super clean and well maintained, but just a bit small. Overall great price for the value!
a really nice place to stay for a solo adventurer. it’s about a 5 minute (or less) walk to the bus stop that takes you to downtown portland with ease. walls are pretty thin though, so if you’re a light sleeper be advised (i was not :P)
