The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is a fascinating historic hotel set perfectly in downtown, with easy access to most of the sights a visitor would want to see. We were upgraded to a large suite with historic features, which was most welcome. The property is in excellent condition overall, but our TV had a broken aerial cable that we fixed ourselves after a staff member had reset the TV, and the carpet and mantlepiece were a little stained and dusty. I would still recommend the hotel as an excellent option for staying in Portland.

If you are imagining that this is a luxury hotel, it is not. Maybe they give the old rooms that need remodeling to those who book through Expedia, but our room was tiny and dated. The bathroom wasn’t large enough for two people. It is in a lovely location, but for the price I’m sure there are nicer rooms elsewhere.
