8pm check in. 15 minute wait for staff to arrive. Present and professional despite the enormous delay. Room key failed upon 1st / 2nd attempts. Requiring another unnecessary return to the front desk. Parking pass validation completed upon check in and FAILED when exiting the parking lot. Necessitating return trip to the front desk prior to departure. My experience doesn’t place the blame on the staff but the new parent company who has acquired said parent company and completely ignored the responsibility entirely at the PDX airport hub location.

Just keeps getting worse
Not so good. I arrived at 10 pm and a new staff member of 4 days put us in a room thay was already occupied. I felt so badly for who we mysy have woken up. When i returned to the front her "trainer" stunk like marijuana and was sitting eating candy and did not help her. She also did not reserve our 6am shuttle even though i asked her twice to confirm our shuttle. Ive been staying at red lion for at least 5 years multilple times a year before an early flight and it just keeps deteriorating in cleanliness and service.

Overall the facility was clean and pleasant. Desk staff were cordial and helpful. I disliked that there was an extra $10 parking fee for my car that wasn’t disclosed during online booking process. Going in and out of parking lot wa quirky but I appreciated that safety feature for vehicle.

The room temperature was very hot. The heater was broken as we kept trying to turn the heat down, but it kept blasting hot air. My 2 grandkids were crying most of the night because they were so hot. I finally had to turn the heater off, then it was too cold for the rest of the night. No happy medium. We got very little sleep, then had to get up at 4:30 am for an early morning flight. The heater was also very loud & when I turned the heat down, it made an even louder noise.. Staff was very nice at the front desk when we checked in.. Thank you..

Red Lion did a great job at check-in though they didnt know we had a reservation BECAUSE Expedia had not informed them. I had an electronic copy and the receptionists was able to track it down through their website.

I enjoyed our stay- our room was comfortable and the staff were nice. Room was plenty clean. For dinner, it was about a 20 minute walk to a sushi restaurant where we got takeout. A pleasant stay, in all.
