The staff is wonderful. Make you feel at home; breakfast is excellent; food at the restaurant is very good too. Loved the balcony in our room - beautiful to enjoy the peace and vista in the evening as well as during the morning.

This was a gorgeous hotel. The staff was really nice and that made a huge difference. The hotel is a little tricky to find, but once you know where it is it’s very easy. Lots of walkable things from it. Also an easy Uber ride to other areas. The room was beautiful. The bed was super comfy. The shower was great. The breakfast was awesome. The little bar lounge was wonderful. we ended up staying two extra days because we liked it there so much. The only thing that needed work was the WiFi is spotty. So if you have to work a lot there that could be tough. They are working on it, because the structure is basically an old castle which is gorgeous, the stone is challenging for the WiFi.

A lovely hotel with the most pleasant and helpful staff throughout. Everyone was super helpful and nice. We arrived quite a few hours earlier than expected and the kind manager on duty allowed us to check in to a beautiful room. Everything was just perfect. Thank you for making the effort and also ensuring we were well taken care off

The hotel was the most charming and beautiful I have ever experienced. The attention to detail from the staff was superb. Handwritten welcome note with a bottle of port and truffles and a lovely birthday handwritten message with champagne on ice and a birthday brownie awaited me. The balcony overlooking the rooftops and Douro River was enchanting. Despite being a bit off the beaten path it was still easy to walk to everything and added to the charm. It was perfect. Also, we didn’t realize breakfast was included until our last day but what a spread it was!! Fantastic variety and beautifully presented. We hope to be back!!

Service excellent, staff helpful. Large rooms, balcony was wonderful. Rooftop bar is a great spot for a drink with views. Breakfast very good. In room coffee and tea. Beautiful dessert and bottle of sparkling wine in our room as a birthday surprise. Would definitely recommend
