My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Hillcrest. We absolutely loved being right across the street from the beach, the people watching from the front porch is incredible. They have some board games in the front area of the lobby over looking the ocean. The staff was kind & helpful. That said, this property is decrepit. It is in need of renovations that more than good cleaning can help. Our room was clean and the staff were nice and polite at check in. The beds are old, the sheets of low quality, the carpet old. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean, but your neighbours are on the same balcony, only separated by a fence. If they smoke, your room smells like smoke. When they make noise at night, you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. This was an extremely inexpensive hotel room for Hampton Beach. We did not expect luxury, and appreciated the good qualities of our stay, but will pay more for thicker walls and better quality amenities next time. I’m writing this review to be honest about what you should expect from the price you pay, and to be appreciative of the staffs work.

Nice balcony, economy fixtures like bed frame, TV, no microwave in room, but one in lobby. Charming old building. Smokers on their balconies next door drifted right into our room, unfortunately. Staff was lovely and it came with a coveted parking spot! Right on the Hampton Beach strip, the description said 1/4 mile to "Hampton Beach", but it was more like walk across the road and right in the sand!

We loved that It was within walking distance to beach, restaurants and shopping. However, the bathroom was so small we had to sit side-saddle on toilet or we couldn't close the door. The sink was ouside the bathroom with no place to hang tour towel.
