Comfortable Villa Close to Lake Sea Mountains Airport Unrivaled View

Our comfortable and well-equipped holiday home is situated halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and 5-6 Pyrenean Ski resorts. All this and a lot more can be reached within 30-50 minutes. The house contains six rooms on two floors, 135 square meters. It is great for family reunions but is also perfect for 3-4 couples travelling together, and is cozy enough for just two. A separate entrance to each of 2 floors. The house is cool in summer and warm in winter. Has a fenced garden with BBQ. We have a games room with a table for table tennis. The road from Perpignan is lined with apple, peach and apricot orchards that start blossoming in March - that's a view! The town centre, a 10-minute stroll, has a lot of restaurants - well worth visiting - and all the necessary shops, banks and ATMs, 2 very good supermarkets and one organic supermarket, selling a huge variety of whole foods and local organic wine. A large municipal swimming pool and tennis courts are in 1 km.


How to get there : By air: Our house is only 40 km from the airport of Perpignan. There are also 5 other airports within a 3 -hour drive: Girona, Carcassone, Montpellier, Barcelona, and Toulouse. By railway: You can use Eurostar and TGV to Perpignan. And once you've got here - you can either use the local railway to Prades (the station is in 700 m from the house) or hire a car (there is a garage in the house and also a parking space in front of the gate). In any case that won't take you more than 45 minutes - during the busiest time of the season. By car: we are in 39 km from the A9 Motorway which links Barcelona with central France.

Places to visit: Villefranche de Conflent A beautiful medieval town with complete fortified walls. There are also stalactites caves at a one km distance from the town. And the town itself is the starting point for a ride on Yellow Train, probably the number one attraction in the area. You can ride in open or closed top carriages admiring the breathtaking view. Abbeys at St Martin de Canigou & St Michel de Cuxa are superb examples of Romanesque architecture in beautiful locations. The 1.3 km long path to St Michel de Cuxa starts almost from the gate of the house. Tautavel Museum, believed to be the site of the oldest human in Europe. Spectacular panoramic views can be enjoyed in Les Lacs des Bouillouses where you can get by chair lift.The Perfume Tower in Mosset, the organ shaped mountains near Ille-sur-Tet can be reached in 15 minutes, the Solar Oven in 40 mi

Othr activities: Diving at Argeles, Banyuls, Port Vendres, Bacares, St Cyprien and Collioure. Golf in Marcevol (10 km, 9 holes) and at Font Romeu - 9 hole golf course at a beautiful mountain setting. St Cyprien-Plage on the coast has a 27 hole golf course. Spas and thermal baths in Vernet-les-Bains (Rheumatology) and Molitg-les-Bains (Respiratory pathologies and Skin diseases). Outstanding natural sulphurous hot springs in wonderful outdoor mountain setting in St Thomas les Bains. Fishing - trout, salmon, carps and pikes. There are 2 lakes in and around Prades. And a lot more -at some distance. Walking - all ability walking is available in abundance from your doorstep! Also within easy reach are the four nature reserves of Py, Mantet, Nyer and Jujois, as is the Carlit Massif, a very popular region for walking the GR10 coast to coast path and Pyrenean route across the massif. In addition, several summits are accessible to walks as well as challenging rock climbs.

Les + : logement fonctionnel, jolie vue, calme, bien placé, accepte les chiens. Prix correct. Les - : pas nickel en terme de propreté (vaisselle et poussière sur les meubles), ni entretenu au niveau extérieur. Certains voisins peu aimables (mais ça, personne ne choisit). Les"pas de bol" : lave vaisselle pas fonctionnel tout au long du séjour. Toutefois, mention spéciale pour la dame qui est en charge du ménage, très réactive et gentille qui essayait de trouver des solutions. Maison plus adaptée pour 8 qu'à 10. Les enfants ont adoré de dormir sur les futons/canapé convertible, les adultes n'auraient pas pu en terme de confort.

Het huis was heel mooi gelegen; we hadden een mooi uitzicht op de bergen en het stadje Prades. Parkeergelegenheid was enkel op straat want om binnen te rijden, was de stoep wel iets te hoog. Er was weinig communicatie qua buitenzetten van vuilnis en dergelijke. Verder viel het binnenkomen dik tegen vermits alles muf rook. Ook de 2 slaapkamers in de 'kelder' waren wel een ontgoocheling. Alles verliep enkel via mail en er was geen persoonlijke communicatie met de verhuurder van het pand. Het koken in huis was quasi onmogelijk vermits er veel te weinig kookgerei was: 1 kookpot voor 7 personen is wel heel weinig te noemen. De airco werkte heel af en toe wat jammer was. De woning zou zeker meer opgewaardeerd kunnen worden wanneer er een aantal renovatiewerken zouden gebeuren.

du pour et du contre....
Belle situation de la maison dans Prades, proche du centre ville. Maison initialement bien aménagée mais il est regrettable qu'aucun entretien extérieur et intérieur ne soit fait régulièrement. La maison se dégrade peu à peu, c'est certainement dû à l'absence de passage régulier de la propriétaire. Communication avec la propriétaire compliquée car elle ne réside pas en France. Il a fallu le soutien d'Abritel.
