Our private cozy rustic cabin nestled among massive spruce and pine trees is the perfect couples’ romantic getaway. Uniquely designed for the couple looking to sit back, retreat from the outside world, and rekindle that special connection between you and nature. Located 10 minutes north of Cremona just off the famous Cowboy Trail. Hike along the trails that wind through the woods surrounding the cabin or leave the farm to head west to photograph the world famous Alberta Wild Horses.
Stay comfy and warm while watching the crackling fire in the cabin’s wood stove. Fall asleep counting the stars through the skylight over your heads. Slide open the massive glass barn door so that you can step outside and greet the morning sun while sitting out on the deck drinking coffee. Visit with the front porch guests that may wander by – deer, elk, squirrels, horses, cattle and, of course, the resident farm dog, Remy, who may pop by to say good morning as well. We also have three large grass paddocks with heated water bowls if you are travelling with your horses. Large trees also provide for your horses shelter from the sun and wind . ** Please note that we are a working farm operation with horses, cattle, and hay production. So, you may possibly see or hear us as we carry out our daily activities on the farm.
The Space
Our cozy rustic cabin has been hand/custom built by us with spruce and pine logs from our own property and local sawmills. We have provided you with everything you need for a relaxing romantic retreat or “the perfect private staycation”.
• Dominating one corner inside the cabin is a massive lodgepole pine log bed that Paul hand-crafted with logs sourced from the Devil’s Head Ranch west of Cochrane. Sweet dreams in this fantastic log bed are guaranteed with a queen memory foam mattress, comfortable linens and plenty of blankets and pillows.
• Bedside and floor lamps throughout the cabin are designed with horseshoes used by Paul in his trade as a farrier.
• The cozy leather love seat is situated so that you can sit and become mesmerized by the flames flickering in the wood stove. Not to mention eventually being cooked out by the heat!! In front of the love seat sits a lift top blanket box to eat / work / or play games on. Inside the blanket box are your favorite board and card games as well as an extra blanket. Sitting on the bookshelf are several books that you must read about the famous YaHaTinda and our local Alberta ranchers and cowboys.
• The kitchen is equipped with all the cooking necessities. Absolutely NO COOKING allowed in the cabin. All cooking is to be done outdoors on the propane BBQ / outdoor fire pit. There is a side burner located on the right hand side of the grill on the BBQ as well. There is a large food prep counter located outside beside the BBQ. No running water or built-in sinks inside the cabin. Plenty of fresh water is provided.
Water for washing dishes, etc during the winter season, water can be pulled from the jug of water provided and heated in the electric kettle. Basins, dish soap, linens and dish drying pad provided.
• Beside the kitchen counter is the back door which leads directly out onto our deck. We scored this amazing antique door from the Hayhurst Grocery and Meat Market in Turner Valley. This business was established back in 1905 and operated until the late 1990’s.
• One of the most unique features of our cabin is the huge sliding glass barn door. The door can be left closed, so that you still can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors through the 6’ foot window in the sliding door when the weather is cold. When the weather is warm – open this sliding glass barn door and the world opens up for you. You will soon find that this is the only door that you will use during the summer months.
• The private outhouse located behind the cabin includes a gorgeous handmade live edge log counter, rope edged mirror, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and an outhouse toilet. We provide plenty of fresh water inside the cabin.
• Enjoy the massive deck. Here you can cook your meals, access the outhouse, and to sit in the Adirondack chairs while you enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine in the late afternoon sun.
Located on the outside deck are the huge Cowboy Soaker Tub and Cowboy Shower. (Unavailable during the winter season - Oct 15th - May 1st) In our summer season, we have hot running water supplied by a propane powered instant hot water heater. Beside the BBQ is a live edge food prep counter that holds a water pump tap and small sink (summer season only).
Step off the deck to wander over to the fire pit or trek into the woods to explore the closest trail. When evening falls, light the wood in the fire pit, have a seat on the cushioned wooden chairs and maybe cook some S'Mores!

For the photographers in the world. We are the idealistic staging area for your hour and a half drive to view and photograph the world famous Alberta Wild Horses located in the YaHaTinda of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The University of Saskatoon Research Centre has verified that the DNA markers in these wild horses indicate 57 international equine breeds in their bloodlines. This makes these elusive horses unique and well worth the trip to watch and photograph them.
Life cannot get any better than this! Luxury "glamping" at its finest!!

CABIN RULES
1. COWBOY LAW – You OPEN the gate – You CLOSE the gate!!! Livestock at large! Please check behind you to make sure that the gate is CLOSED!
2. NO SMOKING in or around the cabin. If you wish to smoke, please place your butts in a sealable container and take them home with you!! DO NOT throw your cigarette butts onto the ground, into the fire pit or out into the trees. Even Smoky the Bear knows that this is how forest fires start!
3. NO COOKING TO BE DONE INSIDE THE CABIN. All cooking to be done outside on the BBQ. A cooking burner is located beside the grill on the BBQ.
4. Please keep your campfire small, never leave unattended and ensure that your campfire has been completely extinguished before retiring for the night! If there is excessive wind or existing county fire bans campfires will not be allowed.
5. No discharging of food waste/bones/grease into the fire pit, outhouse or out onto the ground or the trees surrounding the Cabin. This gravely affects the health of our farm dog, Remy (who is not allowed people food) and will absolutely attract undesirable wildlife. REMEMBER THIS IS BEAR /COUGAR SMART COUNTRY!! Put your food waste into the garbage INSIDE the Cabin and then take it home with you!
6. Please do not feed our farm dog, Remy, or let him into the cabin. If he is a nuisance, please tell him to go home!
7. FIREWOOD – All of our firewood is FREE and a large part of your Glamping experience! An ax is provided.
We, both seniors, have spent many hours splitting the firewood to be used ONLY for the Cabin wood stove.
We ask that you split the free firewood provided to enjoy the outdoor firepit and the wood-fired hot tub experience. You are, however, more than welcome to purchase our split wood @ $20/armload to burn in the firepit and hot tub if you choose not to split wood.
8. “Camper’s Creed” – Leave the campsite and firepit area cleaner than you found it.
9. Please sign our Guest Book. We want to remember all the interesting people that came to stay in our cabin and every guest that arrives after you loves to read about your experience!
