The grounds at the Hyatt Ziva were beautiful. The pools were fun and clean and the rooms were clean and large. The beds were very comfortable. But, the hotel is not smoke-fee. Several guests were smoking and vaping near and in the pools. Also, the buffet is quite small. And, the Japanese restaurant had to have reservations for the show. There were no reservations for the five nights we were there but the one night we ate at a regular table, there were only 4 guests even though the table was set up for 12. The food there was great as welll as at Habeneros. Jose and Mercado were wonderful pool bartenders and Edwin and Candy at Habenros made our vacation memorable and fun!

It was an overall terrible experience! Went there to celebrate my birthday and was unhappy the whole time! Food selection was not only limited but served cold! It was as if it had sat for a while before it was served. It was super noisy I. The morning and we are talking about staff yelling accross the hallways slamming doors and just banging on walls!! All this super early in the morning! There was no real all inclusive experience as we had to come out of pocket for fine dining which was not the case at the Ziva in Cancun! I will NEVER stay at Ziva Riviera again nor will I recommend to anyone! Very unhappy totally ruined my birthday week!

My friends and I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Ramirez during our stay at Hyatt Ziva Riviera, and we can’t say enough great things about him! Ramirez is not just a bartender, he’s a true master of his craft. Every drink he made for us was perfection and he introduced us to our new favourite shot- mini beers! Beyond his skills, Ramirez’s warmth, charisma, and genuine passion for hospitality made every interaction we had with him memorable. Every night we looked forward to seeing Ramirez, he always greeted us with a smile, remembered our favourite drinks, and went out of his way each night to ensure we all had an incredible experience. His professionalism and positive energy made our vacation that much better. We thank you Ramirez, for making our trip unforgettable! If you’re visiting Hyatt Ziva Riviera, do yourself a favor and visit Ramirez at the bar, you won’t regret it!

• No Jacuzzi: This was my first time at a resort without a hot tub, and it was a big disappointment. The only one was in the paid spa, which cost $29 for a 1-hour session. • Paid Menus at Restaurants: Every restaurant featured a paid menu, which felt out of place at an “all-inclusive” resort. Many of the dishes I wanted to try were in the paid section. The staff also actively promoted these items, felt inappropriate. • Terrible Steakhouse Experience: I ordered the premium ribeye from the paid menu, only to receive a piece of frozen meat with a poorly cooked crust. • Smoke Alarm Issue: The smoke alarm malfunctioned at 4 a.m., waking me up with relentless beeping. Had a technician to fix it at 4am. • Limited Entertainment: Evening programs ended too early, typically between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., and restaurants closed by 10 p.m. as well. It was impossible to both enjoy dinner and participate in the evening programs. • Weak Daytime Activities: The daytime activities were underwhelming. For example, there was no DJ by the pool bar, no foam parties, and no inflatable obstacle courses or fun competitions. The resort had a few standout features, including a nice kids’ pool with a water slide, offered a decent variety of drinks, and a well-equipped fitness center. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-stocked with towels, featuring a great in-room Jacuzzi. The Japanese restaurant’s teppanyaki cooking show was a highlight, and the taco restaurant and breakfast were excellent.

We loved our stay. The staff were so attentive and kind. Didier kept us up to date on everything happening and regularly checked in. Raul was incredible as our poolside server and at dinner we loved our service from the Omar/Alejandro team. The pools were lovely, the restaurants were delicious. We had a fabulous time.

There is no variety in food options so not at all worth for all inclusive stays. Most specialty restaurants are closed on a daily basis and we realized they serve same food in buffet that’s available in a restaurant at that time. Room service is bad - takes them an hour to get just 10 pieces of fries.

We were very happy with our stay. I read several reviews that weren't so positive, but I can say it was clean, friendly staff, always able to find something to eat... and if the restaurant didn't have what you want for the picky eaters, than room service had great options. The staff were exceptional... especially the bartenders!! Planning excursions with Amstar was never easier (ask for David). Overall our vacation was fantastic!! Advise would be some updates in the rooms, better communication for room service and try to make the beach area more enjoyable (too many rocks). Also, reduce the cost of the pool beds ($60 too much). Otherwise we were very happy!!!

Food and night entertainment is phenomenal , the beach tho sucks, like there’s no beach , like 2 ft of beach and all of it is covered in seaweed , unlike the pictures . And not really any daily entertainment staff the only thing I’ve seen them do is Zumba and sometimes when asked beach volleyball , but it’s not at the beach just a sand pit. . Other than that great Stay !

Where to begin? The road in to the hotel is a disaster. The pot holes and rains make 2km take 20 min. The rooms were not ready when we checked in at 10pm! We specifically booked two rooms in the same building to be together with a senior/deaf family member and we were put in different buildings. The kids pool area was so unsafe. The floor is rough concrete and the slides are 4” off the ground. The kids slide down right onto the concrete scraped knees and elbows were common. We were t informed of anything on check in. We didn’t know about the restaurants and were told we didn’t need any reservations. But the one restaurant that was good did need a reso so we weren’t able to go together as a family. The food is awful. Balik is the deck restaurant and it has a very limited menu. We learned it’s the same as the Mexican restaurant for dinner. There are only 3 options each night and the quality is poor and unauthentic. The waiters all had an attitude and huffed when we ordered food at an all inclusive! There is no pool food. The only option is burger/hot dog/nugget/pizza option. Or processed cheese nachos. Where are the Mexican dishes? There seemed to be a staff shortage everywhere. No one to serve drinks. Two bartenders at the only open bar. No towels at the pool huts. No room cleaning daily or turn down service at night. The only thing that was good was the evening entertainment and the pool. The kids club leader Laura was great. The beach is awful too.

As a Hyatt member I was disappointed in this stay. The reviews mentioned that the properly was recently remodeled, WHERE? rooms were dated, the couch in the room was DISGUSTING. Stains, dirt, rips… I didn’t even want to be near it. Food was not great and limited. From room service to the restaurants. I booked this hotel for a friends wedding that was being held at the property. During the wedding people were walking through the cocktail portion who were NOT a part of the wedding. I’m disappointed in the overall stay as an Expedia and Hyatt member. I paid good money for this stay and it was not worth it. I will not be returning to this property. Sad example of “All-Inclusive” and “resort”
