The property itself is manicured often and is well monitored. They even close all of the entrances at 10pm so only the front main door is open for business and service 24/7. However, the concierges are very limited in what they can do, i.e. They really keep track of the beach towels and the (indoor) shower towels in every apartment. And yes, it's a whole 1-bed 2-bath apartment with a stacked kitchen. The huge living room has two comfy sofa beds which could sleep two people each, whereas the bedroom's king sized bed could sleep three. The sliding doors on ground-floor apartments lead straight to the GIGANTIC turtle-filled pool with perfectly tempered clean water, which further leads to a beach featuring opaque, sandy and warm Pacific Ocean waters.
Keep in mind: this is a highly discounted resort and is NOT one of those nearby "luxury" resorts that costs upwards of $1200 per night for a room at their gourmet all-inclusive facilities. There's no coffee or food anywhere on the property. If you want any luxury convenience (other than towels and soap, which are available from 9am to 5pm), you will have to leave the property, which I highly recommend. A plethora of restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies are right across the street which features a beautiful running/walking/cycling path.
My family just drove 5 mins down to LaComer, bought some food and drinks to make for the duration of our stay, and saved thousands of dollars. Maybe I'm not a "luxury" guy after all. :)
