The house is spacious, charming, well-designed and -equipped. The small, walled yard with pool is a private oasis. The view of the sea from the upstairs bedroom is as advertised.
We loved Chacala, but it’s not for everyone. When we were there, nearly 100% of the tourists were Mexican families, kind and friendly. The village infrastructure is simple. The restaurant food, in general, is simple. Sometimes the internet fails, or the electricity. The hike home from the beach, uphill on dirt roads, can get hot and dusty. Go there for an authentic experience of unspoiled Mexico by a gorgeous beach.
