This hotel is trash! The overall experience was terrible. I am not going to degrade the people of the hotel or the food. They were both excellent and very attentive. But when it came to the rooms and management my experience was horrible and if you expect a 5 star stay this is not the hotel to stay at. We went to the front office day 2 for a leak in the bathroom. The service guy came out and literally shoved a paper towel in the hole and walked out and called it a day. Well it did technically stop the leak so whatever another day goes by and we shut the door and the ceiling falls on another guest that we were hanging out with. So we head to the front office and alert them of this issue. The front office then locks us out of our room and makes us sit in the office for over 4 hours. Denying my wife and I dinner because she was in a swimsuit with a cover over it. We literally had to borrow clothing from another guest to eat dinner. Well then we get to our “new” room at around 8:30pm it being our last night we are very tired after dealing with this day long problem. Go to get in the bed and what do we find? DRIED BLOOD IN THE SHEETS! Oh and to top the whole thing off other people showed us videos of roaches in their rooms.

Up on checking in we weren’t properly informed about the dining options available at the property, it was difficult to get the carts to come pick us up at times because weren’t close to the front desk.. but all in all we had a great time.

It is a very nice place and very decent. I will definitely come again. What i did not like were the Time share people hounding you around and trying to sell you stuff. This was an inconvenience in my opinion. Also, my wristwatch was missing at the pool side and was never found.

The property is nice. The food and food options were blah. You have to make reservations at the restaurants for dinner, but by the time we got there they were all booked. We had to eat at the buffet the entire time and the buffet food was not that great.

Our stay at Catalonia was superb and fantastic. I have many great things to say about the resort. The separate adult side was very convenient although we did head over to the family side for some activities. The food was amazing, multiple restaurants to choose from and all were very good. Staff and cleaning for the most part were all friendly (helps if you tip often though). Beach access was great although the cons are the excursion sellers can get VERY annoying. Made us not want to go to the beach at times. Another con was the “Exclusive Travelers Club” pitch of 3 hours that they try to sucker you into but have to be firm on saying no since they ask for so much money to join. Otherwise, our stay was amazing and would recommend this place to anyone. Very safe and welcoming atmosphere.

First night when me and my husband arrived to the hotel it was around 6 pm , expected our room should be ready for us and that was the reason I booked my flight to be arrive in early evening. I'm sure enough time was given. ( Check -in time was 3pm ) . We've arrived at the hotel at 6 pm .The resort is huge no lies, tons of hotel staffs. But our room wasn't ready ! OMG ! They can't give us any answer except wait , wait , wait , after half and hour we are hungry and we still waiting for our room . I told the front desk we need to eat because its 7 pm already , they said ok , by the time we finish our dinner was 8:30pm . Guess what still not ready until 9 pm . Room was ok, except refrigerator was broken went to the front desk they tell me go back to the room NOW so someone will be coming, wait till midnight no one came. The next day we went to the front desk again , we told the housekeeper, people with difference attire uniforms . The third days of our staying we finally have a maintence guy come in to check the fridge and replaced. The most simplest hotel room ever been . 2 bath towels and a floor towel thats it . Throughout the entire hotel they expect you to use QR code ( on the phone all the time ). Dinner needs reservation , room service forget it order it at 9pm no one came at all . Dial 0 to the front desk no one answer. Only few staff are nice but others especially those in the shopping area, they look like they want to beat you up. Will not returning .

This property was everything we needed. It was really nice that there are different cuisines to choose from for dinner, however as everyone else says where the heck is the authentic dominican food?! Our room was clean upon arrival, however the fridge didn't get very cold and the iron did not work. But with all things said and done would definitely come back ! Also, for anyone staying on the adults only side, there is alot more activities on the family side !
