Deeply Disappointing Stay at Grand Palladium Bavaro Resort How would you feel if your dream vacation for a milestone celebration turned into a nightmare? That happened to my family and me during our stay at the Grand Palladium Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana. We chose this resort in Punta Cana from 23rd December to 27th December for our parent's 25th wedding anniversary—a once-in-a-lifetime celebration with our family—but the experience was shockingly disappointing. Upon arrival, one of our rooms was filthy and not cleaned after the last guests (photos attached). Reporting this to reception only made things worse. We waited over FOUR HOURS in the lobby, repeatedly ignored by staff, before finally being assigned a new room at 8 PM. This wasted our entire first day. The frustrations didn’t stop there. Despite promises of “world-class service,” receiving basic amenities like toothbrushes took two more days and multiple requests. Staff were dismissive and unprofessional throughout, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. The lack of cleanliness, poor service, and unresponsiveness were shocking for a resort of this stature. This was meant to be a joyous celebration, but instead, it was filled with stress and disappointment. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone looking for a seamless, relaxing vacation.

Resort was great. Food was okay. We booked two rooms and it was difficult to get dinner reservations right after we checked in. We ended up only getting two dinner reservations over a week. Beach was excellent. Pools were amazing. I would stay again. The resort has a lot of potential.

We had a great time and the resort is beautiful. My biggest complaint was the we ordered room service through the app and by phone 2 times and it never showed up. The staff is quick to round about you to another person who that’s their “area to help” but then you never actually get the help. There are also huge gaps in the availability for convenient food. If you don’t want the breakfast buffet you have to pay a fee to get room service. And then lunch doesn’t start until noon but there’s really no easy place to get something and go to the pool or beach. For an all inclusive huge resort I found casual food and dining to be very difficult.

Staff is absolutely amazing and accommodating! Great dining options and great variety of pools and beach spots to lay back and relax unlike many other resorts that have 1-2 pools and you feel like everyone is overly crowded in one spot. This is a beautiful resort and I will definitely be back!

Our stay started off poorly with a frustrating check-in process. The front desk agent repeatedly questioned if I had just arrived, going back and forth between the desk and back office without providing any explanation. Despite having completed online check-in and showing confirmation, I was asked for my documents again with no clarity on what was wrong. This lack of communication set a negative tone. The room itself could use updates, as it felt outdated. Our door handle was broken, leaving us trapped inside until a family member helped us get out. Reporting the issue multiple times to different staff members didn’t expedite the repair, which was incredibly frustrating. Guest service was disappointing, with noticeable preferential treatment for foreign guests. As a native of the Dominican Republic, I couldn’t help but feel overlooked. For instance, a waiter provided excellent service to a nearby Caucasian family while we were left waiting for assistance. Housekeeping was fine until the last day. I returned to my room around 4 PM, and despite having the service sign on the door, the bed hadn’t been made. When the housekeeper knocked, I assumed she’d clean the room, but she looked at me and said, “At this time?” I called the front desk, only to be told that service wasn’t limited to mornings, but I just requested extra towels to avoid further frustration. While the hotel offers beautiful views and a family-friendly atmosphere, it lacks sufficient

This was by far the worst experience for us. Room had giant roaches 2 nights in a row. Door lock was faulty and locked out of room for 1 hour and no one ever came to fix. No food reservations, no spa reservations even though we were tricked to attending a lengthy members club presentation. Super slow transportation within the resort. Promised to have decorations in room for daughters birthday multiple times but nothing. Don’t think about booking here! We almost missed our flight since the lobby is far and you need transportation to pick you up within the grounds but they came super late. Wife has food allergies and vegetarian. Food was so bad she only ate fruits and rice. Never coming back and telling all my network to stay away from this poor service hotel! We were constantly lied to and told they’d make things right and never did. I’ve left this same review for them with a response that they will work on it…but they didn’t work on anything while we were there. Avoid this place!
