I credit the photographer who took such gorgeous pictures showcasing the HM Bávaro Beach Hotel. But, to our dismay, those pictures do not tell an accurate story: The “private” beach (which is not really private) is not well maintained. The HM’s
passageway serves as an access to the beach for sister hotels guests thus, making a steady influx of boisterous non HM guests passing through. The beach loungers’ area is neglected and filled with empty plastic cups and rubbish.
We had to move to another room due to a serious musty smell, malfunctioning AC and leaky faucet. To our surprise, most of the staff were quite unfriendly. They were curt if asked for assistance and most were on their phones. The only two pleasant people were Elva, from housekeeping and Merma Chuki, a security guard. Breakfast was limited and the restaurant food mediocre. The HM Hotels logo represents commitment to the planet’s environment. In my opinion, this hotel falls short of their goals. We Will not stay there again.
