Una cabina bien amueblada. Lo único es el horario de estar en la piscina. Y la hora de salida de la cabina.

Property was easy relatively easy to find. We drove from the SJO airport. Does have air conditioner which was very necessary as it was about 100F heat index. I did not use the TV. Wifi connection was spotty. Place was quite noisy. People living on the property play their music loudly in the evening. Loud talking and laughing. Property was also right off the main road. Truck traffic added to the noise. I did not use the pool. Close to ferry. Have to operate a heavy iron gate to get car into parking area. Basic room.
Think “Bare Minimum” we needed a spot to stay because we missed the last ferry. The staff was friendly but the rooms were closer to a run down hostel than any kind of hotel. Will get you through the night, but not a place you expect for an extended stay.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The door toilet was brokeen since last time when I was there on las december.
If you like giant cockroaches and lizards as your bed mates, this is your kind of place. The toilet had to be flushed several times, you could only access the WIFI if you stepped outside into the patio/parking lot, and the coffee filter still had the grains from the last unfortunate soul who stayed in this room. The fact the office was closed and the gates shut tight at 7 pm with no sign of any other guests was warning enough, I guess, that you were about to pass the gates into Dante's Inferno. At least the air conditioning worked but there was otherwise little value for the exorbitant rate charged for a single.
The strong wifi, the microwave, fridge and coffee maker were good, but no coffee was available.. The staff were friendly. There is no hot water system in the hotel.. The rooms are small and old, and VERY dark. The price for these rooms is much too high because there is very little competition in the old and worn out town of Puntarenas. We've never paid anywhere close to this amount for a hotel that does not supply even warm water. Staying here is basically camping without a tent.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Very nice, needs physical maintenance.
Friendly and welcoming staff when we we arrived late at night. They showed us where everything was located and wanted very much for us to let them know what we needed or wanted. All week they were ready to help make our stay pleasant. They succeeded and we recommend this place to anyone staying in Puntarenas.

Good stay if you're on a slight budget
Hotel Madeleine was a bit hard to find at first. The map points you in a completely wrong direction, the one on hotels.com. The hotel itself wasn't too bad it was a little motel style setup. Locks to get into the grounds of it. Parking if you have a car. I did notice quite a bit of ants in the room, not something that really bothered me buy idk how bad their insect situation usually is. The room also had a small kitchen that had everything you needed. I didn't use it but I thought that was nice to have. Overall its a great deal for
This is not a hotel. When I got there, there was a padlock on the iron gate of the establishment, which seems to be a cluster of cabins. I was informed by one of the tenants that the person in charge had gone out for a break. I called and no one showed up. I waited for more than two hours before deciding that I needed to find another place to spend the night. It was a frustrating experience that no other traveler should have to live through.
We had to stay at Cabinas Madeline when American Airlines delayed us to the point of missing the last ferry. We arrived after midnight and despite the fact that they were locked down for the night, we pleased to find the owners waiting up for us. They let us in and showed us the room and we crashed out. This is not the Ritz, it is a place to spend the night that is clean, affordable and secure with working AC.
This is a good place to stay if you need a place to crash before grabbing the ferry to the Nicoya Peninsula, and the proprietors are very friendly and accommodating. However the area is rough and the rooms are dated. The bedroom we were given was air conditioned, but only had a single bed and a double, so not ideal for a family of four. The price with taxes came to more than half of what a night at Tango Mar charges (across the gulf of Nicoya), which is a virtual paradise by comparison. So if you can catch the ferry, do so.
I cancelled one night but even though there was a no refund policy for cancellations he didn't charge me and even upgraded my room.Convenient location to beach and good restaurants. It's a simple hotel but very small the owner was very nice. Putarenas itself doesn't have much going for it except the sunset maybe. Nice and quiet.
