The staff at Holiday Inn Gulou were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Melody and her staff went above and beyond to help me and make sure I was given the best service. The room was nice, and the hotel is in a great location. I will definitely stay again next time I go to Chengdu.

It’s a wonderful place to stay while in Chengdu. The staff here are courteous and efficient. The small things, like fruit in our room, was a nice touch. We enjoyed everything during our stay. Even the pillows had stitched-in notes informing us what kind of pillows they were. The attention to detail made our stay extra nice.

Great Stay
Value for money and the breakfast is good. A short 8 mins walk to 2 nearby metro stations. Will come back to Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Gulou in the future.

The most outstanding part of this hotel is its breakfast buffet! They have chef quality Sichuan food, not the American Sichuan food that is covered with chili. Real Sichuan food is fresh ingredient, and the purpose of the cooking is to bring out the flavors of the food. They have such a huge layout of the buffet, would take three average stomaches to get one sample of each

No frills hotel and kudos to the housekeeping team. The room is well maintained, clean and quiet. Buffet breakfast is average with local Sichuan choice. It seems like there is not any security during my 2 days of stay. Return to stay 7/10 for value of money and cleanliness.

Weekend in Chengdu
Location, Reception and cleaning were excellent. Room was a little below my expectations with a horrible view to the rear over the rooftops of ugly older apartment blocks. I booked a double room with King Size bed which was confirmed at check in but got a standard (small) double bed. Breakfast was good, coffee was excellent. We ate one lunch in the hotel restaurant but it is better to eat outside. The hotel is very busy with international guests so breakfast got very noisy. No refrigerator in our room which was disappointing. Room was very quiet at night. 10 minutes walk from nearest subway station. Wifi sometimes rather weak. Otherwise a good choice for a short stay.
