I stayed at this property while the hot water service was being updated, while the restaurant was being renovated and in 3 days of rain. The pothole water features in the carpark made parking difficult and walking in the carpark almost impossible. Having to go back out in the pouring rain to put a parking permit in the car was lovely.
The closed restaurant meant food was only available in the bowling alley or via room service... except the bowling alley and music was so loud no one picked up the phone. My dinner was good the - breakfast was not. Things were mislabelled, things were cold because the lids wouldn't close. $6 for the smallest can of coke not impressive either.
The drilling and hammering starting at 8 am and not finishing till 6pm the first day and 4pm the second day, not impressive either.
There is no convience store nearby and a wet winding road back to Queenstown creates a great oportunity for having some snacks or drinks for sale... even a vending machine. There is nothing.
At its bones it should be a great property. My room was spacious and the view is lovely. Some great staff, some crap staff. Great views, a cosy pub and the Onsen across the rd.
