Quirky and gorgeous!
We loved our stay here! I can see the place may not be the best in winter (it is an old house), but it was a delight to stay here in summer. The living room was big and comfortable, with amazing views across the estuary and to the hills. The beds were comfy and cosy, and the bathroom (with washer and dryer) was grand. The kitchen had lots of plates and bowls and everything you'd need to call this home for a holiday. The deck is glorious! Sitting at the table drinking beer in the sun, with the parasol up for shade, was the most perfect first evening. The house is up the hill enough to get great views but still close to the shops and town. Now to the quirks! The lights took some getting used to as the kitchen lights are on strings from the bulbs – so it's a bit tricky in the dark. The light in the bunk room is also on a string...which we had to extend for my short mother. Which was pretty funny, I admit! A couple of floors are a bit wonky and some windows are a little stiff to open – if you're seeking sleek and shiny perfection, this place ain't for you. If you want a house that feels homely, welcoming and comfortable, that looks charming (and great in photos) and that's a pleasure to return to at the end of the day, this is a winner.
