This was an amazing hotel. It is perfect for persons going on excursion/trip. The rooms are simple but the beds are comfortable. They have a hot tub outside, which was more than welcome. The staff is very nice and accomodating.
Great Little find however rooms have no temperature control and we barely slept because we boiled, dried up and are writing this from the after life
But staff are very sweet, property super clean and unique….
Felt really modern. It was clean and fully featured.
The shared bedroom was nice, with dedicated drawers to put our stuff (could be locked if you bring your own). There was bed curtains to block light and get some privacy.
The hottub looked enticing, but it was fairly small fitting maybe like 6 people. I decided to skip because it was full with another group.
They also had a tiny “kitchen” that isn’t mentioned anywhere which was convenient. However, note that it’s mainly just microwaves, and a kettle, with plates and other cookware. No stovetop or oven.
Great food! Had a washer and dryer which was great to have . Owners have two cute labradors walking in and out of the lobby giving it a very relaxed feel and I would stay there again.
The sauna and hot tub are excellent, the rest of the facilities are excellent especially knowing that it's in the nowhere, I would for sure recommend to anyone and everyone.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when staying here but this place was above every expectation. It’s so clean, accommodating, the shared living space was so cute and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was so fresh and delicious. I will be back!
Very clean and simple design. Plenty of space to keep our things. Comfortable mattresses and good choices of food. The kids, 6 and 8 loved the rooftop jacuzzi. Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff.
The first to say is that Midgard Base Camp does not feel like the stereotypical hostel that one imagines. This starts with the lobby area that has a fun and cozy setup and the restaurant and bar area. Also, the room options are more than just a shared room with bunk beds and community bathrooms. Those do exist but we stayed in a private family room with a private bathroom. There is a hot tub and sauna that we also used. Gina, the hostess, is very fun and provided us with good information. The location fit our needs for our tour of the South of Iceland. There isn’t much else around this area to stay and Midgard offered a good option and is also close to various food options. We would definitely return.
