I am between providing a 4 star or 5 star review, but will tip it up to 5. It’s probably like a 4.25.
Overall was one of our favorite stays in Iceland. The cottages are so unique, it was really fun to stay here and I’m so glad we did! I would totally recommend to anyone staying in the area.
A few notes:
1. The cottage fits 2 adults comfortably. 4 adults would be a very tight squeeze and wouldn’t be a comfortable stay. There is very little storage space to stow bags for 4 adults, and the upstairs head clearance is very low.
2. The breakfast was good, and I’m glad we did it, but it was expensive at about $30USD per person. For that price, I would expect coffee, eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc. What we received was not worth the money. But honestly I’m still glad we did it. I would recommend to management lowering this cost, offering some better options, and overall finding a better way to offer this service.
3. Make sure to have a plan for dinner. We picked up some stuff at the grocery store during our drive over, but even the grocery stores can close quite early in the evenings. I could totally see someone driving out to the cottages without food for dinner, and no options.
4. The beds are decent, but could be more comfortable.
Overall:
I think for how expensive the place is, they can afford to provide breakfast for free and make a few other improvements.
That said, we did have a lovely stay here. The cottages are so cool and I would totally stay here again.
