I’ll start with the positives- the location was great and the house was clean. However, when we arrived there was a note on one of the bathrooms that it was out of service. We were 4 adults and didn’t plan on sharing one bathroom for 4 days, so I emailed the owner. He advised that only the shower wasn’t working but we could use the toilet.I asked for a partial refund, and he agreed to give us 20% off our stay, which wasn’t much considering the inconvenience, but we agreed. Later, one of our group tried using the toilet and it didn’t work. I contacted the owner and he sent someone the next day. He couldn’t fix it then so he came back the following day, (now day 3), and worked for several hours banging etc. while we were resting. By 5 pm on day 3, we had a working toilet (still no shower.) We left the house clean, but I didn’t receive the refund. When I contacted the owner, he said that we left feces on the toilet brush so he would not give us our promised refund. I don’t know whether there was feces on the toilet brush, so I offered to have him take the price of a new toilet brush out of the refund. He then told me that his cleaning lady wouldn’t clean the house because of the toilet brush, so somehow he lost money. Anyway, I wouldn’t rent from him again. The rental was promised as a 2 br, 2 bath, and we did not receive that nor were we given the refund as promised. I think the thing with the toilet brush was an excuse to get out of refunding our money. Super crazy!
