The garden of the property borders on Thames, and is very peaceful. Our room was comfortable and clean. We selected the hotel because, while not at Heathrow Airport, it took around 45 minutes to get to the airport to drop of the hired car. Next time I would try to arrive earlier in the day to allow us to see more of Sonning.

Like our room, clean and good amenities. Linens, bedding comfortable. Being in Sonning, always traffic over the bridge which is annoying, because the village is charming. Staff were friendly, willing but not “crisp” in service.

The Hotel is lovely
The Hotel is lovely and the reception staff excellent. The only non 5* part of the stay was in the restaurant where an otherwise excellent meal was blemished by a very gristly steak which was met pretty much with a shrug of the shoulders when pointed out to the serving staff.

This area is very historic and lovely to look at. There are several good dining options within walking distance, including at the hotel. The Thames is very nice here with ealking paths available.

Idyllic setting by the river, and in walking distance from The Mill Theatre. Cool decor, very clean, lovely and comfy 'cosy double' room. All hotel and restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food is tasty - not cheap, but good burgers and delicious range for breakfast. Top tip - book and PAY in advance for your breakfast to guarantee a table and pay the maximum of £17.50 rather being charged for individual items.
