Reservation was cheated at Check-in
I booked and paid for a Superior double/twin room. At check-in I was assigned a Standard twin room. I spent hours talking to the hotel manager and Hotels.com agent. Both pointed their fingets to each other. At the end I paid for the price of a bad business deal and stayed 6 nights in a tiny cramped room that has a wet shower. The agent felt sorry and credited 10% of my payment to my account. The manager said:- 1) Superior room is for 3 persons so I didn't need one. My daughter traveled with me. 2) Double room is for husband and wife only. So my daughter and I were assigned to twin room. 3) Reservation details on my Hotels.com invoice stated Superior double/twin room but has no photograph of the room booked.4) All their Superior rooms were occupied so he couldn't show me the layout of a Superior room. #4 statement was a lie because both in Hotels.com and Center Hotel Klopp websites showed Superior rooms were available. I will never stay in all the Center Hotels in Reykjavik. I will also reevaluate my membership in Hotels.com after joining for 15+ years. It was a terrible and expensive trip. It was a very frustrating and disappointing way to start my European Christmas vacation. Oh, the hotel serves same breakfast items everyday. So after 3 days my daughter said That is Enough!

I simply can’t say enough good things about the staff at this centers hotel Klopp . They are willing to help you and never make it seem like a bother!, they called us a taxi, gave us walking directions, pointed out some neat places to visit( not over priced places ) and enough hearing about your experiences . It really added a special touch to our family trip to Iceland, when in doubt just ask, they truly made our worry or concern no big deal ! Thanks for treating like family .we certainly appreciated it

I may not spell her name right but Barooska, she was there nov 17,18,19 and our last day, she was amazing and beyond the best person to have on staff. i cannot say enough about her SO NICE and HELPFULL. we took all of her advice and loved every minute of it, the excursions to dinner choice. She is a wonderfull lady She made the trip fantastic.

Lovely staff and great location apart from the fact it’s opposite an Irish bar! Which can mean a disrupted sleep if you are at the front of the property. Rooms are tired and bedding and towels feel old. Breakfast was good, small but everything you need. Staff are what make this a good hotel, they were really helpful and you are located in the centre so easy for shops, restaurants etc. But it looks dated and the rooms feel very basic. Feel it’s due an update.

This was a nice hotel to stay in for the convenience of the surroundings. There are many stores and restaurants, and also close to our tour pick ups. The staff are very helpful with helping you navigate the area, and the complimentary breakfast buffet was also good. However, there is an Irish Pub across the street that plays live music until 1am during the week, this was a little annoying but at least by 1am is was done. On the weekend though Friday and Saturday night it turns into a full blown disco with blaring music and cars pulling up all hours of the night, until 4am. We stayed in our room Friday night and on Saturday night we tried to change rooms but the girl at the desk overnight said there were no rooms available. In the morning we saw the man at the front desk who was helping us out all week long and he immediately changed our room to the quiet side of the hotel and apologized for our inconvenience. So if you do plan to stay at this hotel, aside from the music this is actually a great hotel because the location is perfect, just make sure to ask for a room on the quiet side of the hotel and you will be fine.

My initial room had smelled very unsanitary and disgusting. I informed the receptionist who agreed. My girlfriend and I were moved to an upraded suite. The room was decent for the two days we were there.
